posted: Aug 6th, 2005 Elsinore GT's Center Inside, Steve Miller, already provided a meet story of the Southwest Skydiving League July meet for the NSL News story on August 3, which covered mostly the athletic part of the AAA and AA Class competition. Erin Murphy, Elsinore Gravity member and SSL Director Pamela Stevens' assistant in Elsinore, had additional information available for the NSL News. News Article Did you know that three former AFF students and instructor Tony Thacker competed in Raeford?
posted: Aug 5th, 2005 The 4th meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2005 season at Raeford, NC, looked like another weather-endangered event. Low ceilings hung over the DZ all morning until the staff at Raeford sent a Cessna up to probe the ceilings. The meet began at 11:00 AM, and all but two teams completed five rounds before the rain began in the afternoon. During the weather hold, Tim D’Annunzio of Paraclete Armor and Equipment, a CASL sponsor, conducted an auction to benefit Liz, a Raeford packer injured in a motorcycle accident. News Article Did you know that everybody was a winner in the Northwest Skydiving League?
posted: Aug 4th, 2005 With beautiful blue skies, views of snow capped mountain tops, the Puget Sound, and competitors eager to jump, the Northwest Skydiving League held its second meet of the 2005 season in Snohomish, Washington. Three teams competed with the local Washington and traveling Oregon mixture. Elsinore Vengeance has been training since February with the newest team member filling the Point position, Lisa Albrecht. Vengeance also has a new team videographer who joined the team this year, Luke Nevin. Deb and Dave Correia have switched their slots of Inside Center and Tail. Jeff Smith returned as the Outside... News Article Did you know that Elsinore Equinox leaped to a whole new scoring level last weekend?
posted: Aug 3rd, 2005 Hot off the 18-team showing for the June meet of the Southwest Skydiving League at the host of the USPA Championship 2005, Perris Valley, 14 teams arrived at Skydive Elsinore for the final meet of the regular SSL 2005 season. With record breaking heat well into the 100's expected for the day and thunderheads in the distance, wheels were up early at 8:15 a.m. With the June meet winner Perris Fury absent due to a scheduling conflict, the AAA Class looked to be the best competition of the day, and it did not disappoint. News Article Did you know that meet traveling brings fun and experiences?
posted: Aug 2nd, 2005 Several teams have already used the opportunity of combining winter training camps in the southern parts of the country with attendance at earlier NSL meets in Florida, Arizona or California. That is nothing very new. It has also become normal operation that team members travel to locations far away to attend team training camps and competitions. It is more unusual when teams decide to compete at different locations, which are outside of the geographical area of the "home league". News Article Did you know that the results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition on June 18 are now posted?
posted: Aug 1st, 2005 The NSL headquarters has still not been able to fix the flaw that has been bothering the calculation of the handicap for the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition. However, the flaw does not interfere with the scores of all meet weekends. It is in the way whenever teams compete that have attended meet in different leagues. Some meet weekends still have to wait for the final calculations, while others can already be processed at this point in time. The NSL now took on the meet weekend of June 18 and added the scores after handicap to the previous results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition.... (more)
