News Article Did you know that that the NSL News goes back in time for Christmas?
posted: Dec 23rd, 2008 The NSL News looked up the oldest story in the NSL News archives on Christmas Eve. It was posted on December 24 of 2000 and cannot be found any longer anywhere since the current archives of the database don't reach that far back. However, the stories are still available as they were posted and just require manual recovery. The Christmas story of 2000 covered Arizona Airspeed's situation after winning the USPA Nationals 2000 in 4-way and 8-way. Airspeed had just made a decision how to deal with representing the USA in both events at the World Meet 2001 in Spain. It was a very interesting situation... (more)
News Article Did you know that Perris Jimani's 2009 lineup is complete?
posted: Dec 22nd, 2008 Back to the team business of the west coast and other updates of successful recruiting efforts. The NSL News mentioned during the coverage of the NSL Championship 2008 that Perris Jimani was looking for a 4th member. The story on 3 December 2008 had covered how Jim Earman's Jimani lineup in DeLand won the AA Class competition. The three Jimani members of 2008 (Jim Earman, Anders Mattsson, Brian Sawatzky) then went team shopping together at the Perris Fury camp a little bit later, as the NSL News reported on 8 December 2008. News Article Did you know that FSC Wind Damaged needs a new tail for the 2009 season?
posted: Dec 19th, 2008 Team recruiting efforts continue, as the NSL News already reported a few of these off-season activities, which ended up successfully and within a relatively short time period. The NSL News mentioned during the coverage of the NSL Championship 2008 that FSC Wind Damaged, a AA/Intermediate Class team from Lake Wales in Florida, made the team's last appearance with this lineup at SkyQuest 2008 in November. Tail Mario Luppa had to move back home to Italy after completing his services for the Italian military in Tampa, Florida. Mario Luppa was not happy to leave after two great years with FSC... (more)
News Article Did you know that Rob Radez prepares for a challenging season with SDC Rhythm XP?
posted: Dec 18th, 2008 The NSL News reported on 5 November 2008 that CSC Rhythm XP, USPA's Advanced Class champion of 2008, is looking for a new Center Inside. Brian Ball, who had joined the Midwest team for the 2008 season, was not be able to commit to the 2009 schedule. Once again, it did not take very long until the open slot was filled. Rhythm's remaining 3-way (JaNette Lefkowitz, Steve Lefkowitz and Laurent Beaudouin) announed this week that the lineup is complete for the upcoming season. Rob Radez is the new Center Inside, while Kevin Naftzger will still be on camera for the new lineup. The new Rhythm member... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL wishes you Happy Holidays and says thank you to all supporters?
posted: Dec 17th, 2008 The Christmas holidays are right around the corner, and Santa Claus has already been greeting the NSL News audience on the front page and a few subsequent pages for a few days. It is the time of the year when the National Skydiving League is grateful to still be in business. It is also the time to express appreciation for the help and support by many passionate 4-way fans: league and meet directors, judges, supportive skydiving centers and the skydiving industry. (more)
News Article Did you know that dive pool changes and rules can now be discussed on-line by the whole FS community?
posted: Dec 16th, 2008 The NSL News has covered several topics after the World Meet 2008 that will be discussed by the Formation Skydiving Committee of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) at the upcoming meeting in Sweden on 1 February 2009. The freeze frame issue made the NSL News on 6 October 2008, followed by the discussion of slower judging speed on 9 November 2008. The event duration of world meets and world cups was the topic on 14 November 2008.
