News Article Did you know that Tenacity members compete in Mideast and Florida this weekend?
posted: May 21st, 2011 Coincidence brings together team mates of the 2010 season in two different lineups this weekend. The Florida Skydiving League visits Skydive Miami in Homestead, while the Mideast Skydiving League launches its 2011 season at Start Skydiving at the same time. Jane McGuire trained and competed with Tenacity last year, an all-female lineup of the Mideast Skydiving League at Start Skydiving. Tenacity attended two MESL meets in 2010 and then took the 5th place of 31 AA/Intermediate Class teams at the USPA Nationals 2010 with a 10.3. average. Tenacity continues this year, and Tail Joan Esson has... (more)
News Article Did you know that Shannon Pilcher beat Solly Williams by one point?
posted: May 5th, 2011 The International Bunny Meet has created the content for three different stories so far, and the NSL News still has to go back to the event one more time. There was another interesting and quite exciting part of the competition that did not take place in freefall. The place of this kind of action was on the ground, mostly in the area between the creeper pad and the boarding area. The four teams that competed in DeLand were split up into two different groups. The two teams from Sweden, Bardagi and CADO, were naturally closer to each other, and they also shared the same coach, Shannon Pilcher.... (more)
News Article Did you know that Bardagi videographer Niklas Rodensjö delivers eye candy?
posted: Apr 24th, 2011 The three Scandinavian teams at the International Bunny Meet were not the only ones competing this weekend. Three other teams from Norway and Bodyflight Atlas from Denmark attended the Viking Challenge in Perris. In fact, it was almost an exclusively Scandinavian affair, as Finland opened the 2011 season at the same time. Germany's Final Four DeLand was the only team that is not from Scandinavia. This weekend's constellation is pure coincidence, as the hosts of those three meets scheduled their events independantly from each other. The NSL News covered the DeLand event live at the competition... (more)
News Article Did you know that the International Bunny Meet is in full swing?
posted: Apr 23rd, 2011 The International Bunny Meet of the Florida Skydiving League is on its way in DeLand, and it features four teams from three different countries, Sweden (Bardagi, CADO), Germany (Final Four) and Denmark (Bodyflight Factum). The name of the event is obviously related to the date of the event on the Easter weekend, and it expresses some hope at the same time that there might be a jackpot in the future, as the Shamrock Showdown has it in March every year. However, the Skins Game for other prizes takes place anyway. The European teams have scheduled their training camps in DeLand around the Easter... (more)
News Article Did you know that this weekend's meet brings back memories of 1998?
posted: Apr 22nd, 2011 The upcoming competition in DeLand, the FSL International, features several teams who have recently been absolving their spring training. Two teams from Sweden, including top contender Bardagi, Bodyflight Atlas from Sweden and the German top team Final Four are eager to post some scores and show the results of the training efforts. The NSL News was looking into archives, which are not in the current database that begins in 2003, to see what happened on the same weekend at the very beginnings of the National Skydiving League. The Florida Skydiving League held its 9th meet of the 1997/1998 season,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Fastair met Airspeed at the Shamrock Showdown?
posted: Apr 11th, 2011 The April issue of the Blue Skies Mag included a new piece of the "Turning Points" series. It is the fourth contribution from the Formation Skydiving competition community for the comprehensive Blue Skies Mag coverage of the whole skydiving world. The January article had introduced the new Arizona Airspeed lineup and speculated of the team's potential. In February, the NSL News author covered the rest of the 4-way world and the teams who will compete with Airspeed. The situation after the Dubai Championship 2011 was discussed in March, and the newest "Turning Points" provided input after the... (more)
