posted: Jul 28th, 2015 Last weekend's leaderboard of the Texas Shootout 2015 is now completely up-to-date. Meet Director Devon Shows, Spaceland Lite member for many years, provided the latest team photos and the lineups of all teams at the meet. There were a few interesting changes. Heart of Texas had Amanda Lampton in the driver's seat, who helped the team to move up to the level of USPA medal contention, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported on July 25th. Amanda Lampton is familiar with the competitive atmosphere in the battle for USPA medals. She won bronze with Dallas Khaos Black at the USPA Nationals... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Northern Plains have to paypal a case of beer to Texas?
posted: Jul 27th, 2015 The teams of the Northern Plains Skydiving League completed their 6-round meet in all four categories on Sunday. NPSL Director Al BeVier said that his teams and competitors enjoyed the live atmosphere of the competition on Saturday, when the teams at the Texas Shootout competed at the same time. Meet Director Devon Shows, Spaceland Lite member, made the scores from Texas available round by round, which gave all teams the opportunity to compare directly at any time. News Article Did you know that Heart of Texas followed up on the Skydive Midwest Next message?
posted: Jul 25th, 2015 The competition between teams of the Northern Plains Skydiving League and at the Texas Shootout took place in three of the four categories. It is not over yet, even though the teams in Texas have completed all six rounds at Skydive Spaceland. All scores were uploaded round by round throughout the day, and Skydive Twin Cities could not keep up with the pace at Spaceland. NPSL Director Al BeVier said that his teams will complete the meet on Sunday. The AA Class is the most competitive category of this league duel, where six teams from Texas and three NPSL teams share the combined leaderboard.... (more)
News Article Did you know that 11 teams competed for medals and cash at the Dallas Super Cup 2014?
posted: Aug 13th, 2014 Doctor Lee Schlichtemeier opened up the awards ceremony by mentioning that the Dallas Super Cup was 20 years old this year. The competition was started in 1994 to give the local professional team “Dallas Heat” some competition experience. It paid off with Dallas Heat placing 8th in 1994, 6th in 1995 and 4th place in 1996 at the USPA Nationals. The team disbanded after 1996 and many of the players found themselves on Arizona Airspeed's farm team. Dallas Heat had many professional skydivers pass through its ranks: Alan Metni, Gary Beyer, Perry Knust and Pat Patton, Neal Houston, Christopher... (more)
News Article Did you know that Spaceland Lite broke up for the Texas Shootout 2014?
posted: Jun 25th, 2014 Texas 4-way competitors enjoyed a fun mixed meet at Skydive Spaceland on June 21, hosted by long-term Open Class 4-way team Spaceland Lite. Now in its fourth year, the Texas Shootout has always been a typical 4-way meet. Teams sign up for the event and play. This year, however, Lite had a lot of interest in participating from several jumpers who had attended their tunnel camps, but weren't yet on teams. Spaceland Lite decided to break up for a day to form player-coach pickup teams. Results were four pickup teams, three of them with Lite player-coaches. "It's important for Lite to support... (more)
News Article Did you know that Spaceland Lite took the AAA Class overall top spot for the 2nd time?
posted: Jul 30th, 2013 The weather made it once again impossible last weekend to fill the overall leaderboard in three of the four categories with scores for six rounds. This time, the AAA Class teams could not complete the meet at three different locations. The scores for only two rounds from Texas, Northern Plains and Germany also had an impact on the standings. The AAA Class winner is coming from Texas, and Spaceland Lite took the top spot for the second time at the team's second meet. The Usual Suspects from Germany were only one point behind after Round 2 and finished with the higher meet average after six rounds... (more)
