Did You Know...

... that Eliana Rodriguez, Clementine Le Bohec and Jen Davidson missed Jeana Billings in new NSL Live Talk?

Aethers with Mathieu Quizy (3rd from right) at the Shamrock Showdown 2026
posted Oct 28th, 2026 - The NSL Live Talk with Clementine Le Bohec and French national coach Mathieu Bernier on October 25th already provided a wealth of information and impressions from two of the main figures behind the little miracle that the Aethers Lille delegation achieved at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026.

Clementine Le Bohec naturally received most of the attention because of the extraordinary circumstances under which she stepped in at very short notice to replace Mathieu Quizy, who has held the tail slot for Aethers since 2022. However, Damien Gouriou, Tom Mattoni, Alban Rumolo and team videographer Cameron Malie deserve just as much credit, as their contributions made it possible for Clementine Le Bohec to become the third female 4-way Open Class competitor in history to win a world championship title.

Mathieu Quizy deserves just as much credit, as Aethers Lille would not have reached the position they are in today without him. The NSL News did not have the opportunity to feature the entire team in the latest NSL Live Talk. The previous conversation with Mathieu Quizy took place at the Shamrock Showdown 2026 - 1st Bob Hallett Memorial, where the team wrapped up its training before the competition with a conversation at Skydive DeLand on February 14th.

The NSL News will try to catch up with Mathieu Quizy when he is ready to return to training and competition. Meanwhile, Clementine Le Bohec will have her name engraved on the William H. Ottley Sword, awarded to the FAI 4-way world champions and often referred to as the 4-way Excalibur.

Clementine Le Bohec also attracts and deserves more attention than most other 4-way competitors because of her gender. She has become the third female competitor to reach the highest level of 4-way competition in the Open Class and have her name engraved on the 4-way Excalibur. Natasha Montgomery became the first female 4-way Open Class world champion with DeLand Fire at Gera 2006.

Eliana Rodriguez followed two years later at Maubeuge 2008, winning the title with Arizona Airspeed's Odyssey lineup (Craig Girard, Mark Kirkby, Andy Delk and Steve Nowak on camera).

Eliana Rodriguez was already a 4-way Women and 8-way Open world champion when she was recruited by Airspeed Odyssey. She had won that title with the U.S. team Synchronicity at Empuriabrava 2001. She then joined Airspeed's 8-way lineup and won her second FAI gold medal at Rijeka 2004. Finally, and perhaps most impressively, she concluded her competitive career by winning the 4-way Open Class world championship title another four years later. The NSL News had the pleasure and honor of bringing Eliana Rodriguez and Clementine Le Bohec together for an NSL Live Talk in Eloy.

The plan was to share the conversation with two more female world champions in formation skydiving, both of whom have their own combinations of outdoor world championship titles. Jeana Billings and Jennifer Davidson both have their names engraved on the William H. Ottley Sword, awarded to the FAI 8-way world champions and often referred to as the 8-way Excalibur. They have also both won 4-way Women titles: Jennifer Davidson in 2016 with the female 4-way lineup of the Golden Knights, and then again alongside Jeana Billings at Eloy 2026.

Jennifer Davidson followed up on her first 4-way Women title with 8-way gold as a member of the Golden Knights at Australia 2018. She joined the XP8 lineup in 2025 and has now added the second 8-way Open Class gold medal to her collection, alongside Jeana Billings last week. t was the fourth consecutive 8-way Open Class world championship title for Jeana Billings, who won in Eloy under very challenging circumstances. She was unable to join the NSL Live Talk conversation with Clementine Le Bohec and Jennifer Davidson, as she was already on her way home after Round 10.

Clementine Le Bohec has now joined the ranks of female outdoor world champions in both 4-way and 8-way Open Class competition, albeit with a different combination of titles that, so far, only Eliana Rodriguez can match: 4-way Open (2026) and 4-way Women (2018). Clementine Le Bohec has also recorded the highest 10-round meet average in history among female competitors, with Aethers Lille's 26.4 average. She could match Eliana Rodriguez's achievement of winning three gold medals across three different competition classes by adding an 8-way gold medal, as she did with the French 8-way team did at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026. Jeana Billings and Jennifer Davidson could also join forces to achieve the same feat by winning the 4-way Open Class title that is still missing from their collections.
