Did You Know...

... that SDC QuadRhivium won the Midwest duel with CSC Constellation for the first time?

USPA AA/Intermediate Class winner in 2024
posted Aug 30th, 2026 - The second meet of the Midwest Skydiving League 2026 featured an interesting duel between two teams from different skydiving centers in the region: SDC QuadRhivium from Skydive Chicago and CSC Constellation XP from the Chicagoland Skydiving Center.

Both teams have known each other well since 2023, when they met for the first time on a 4-way leaderboard. It was the first year for SDC QuadRhivium, while CSC Constellation were already in their third year of competition. The first Constellation lineup in 2021—Natalie Rodriguez, Russell Bayuk, Rhiannon Lucente, and Brad Strock—attended their first USPA Nationals in the A Class and narrowly missed the bronze medals after losing a jump-off round against one of the Air Force Academy teams.

CSC Constellation moved up to the AA/Intermediate Class the following year and finished 11th on the USPA leaderboard. They returned to the AA/Intermediate Class in 2023, this time in medal contention, and finished tied for fourth place. That was also the year SDC QuadRhivium attended its first national outdoor championship, with Daniel Barney, Pete Eng, Nuno Merino, and Marko Pilepich in the lineup and Justin Howard on camera. The first QuadRhivium lineup finished 12th on the same AA/Intermediate Class leaderboard, which featured 24 teams.

USPA AAA/Advanced Class bronze in 2025
SDC QuadRhivium brought back former CSC Constellation member Daniel Reuber in 2024 to replace Daniel Barney, while Leslie Noble replaced Daniel Reuber in the new CSC Constellation lineup. The result of their 2024 duel at the USPA Nationals was the first set of gold medals for CSC Constellation, while SDC QuadRhivium finished fourth after a five-team battle for the three medal positions.

Both teams had completed their AA/Intermediate Class training and competition and added the final six blocks of the complete dive pool to their curriculum in 2025. Both lineups changed again for the big step up to AAA Class training and competition. Jamie Caldwell joined SDC QuadRhivium to replace Peter Eng, while CSC Constellation brought in player-coach Andrew Happick for the new 2025 lineup: Natalie Rodriguez, Russell Bayuk, Andrew Happick, and Paul Webster, with Casey Long on camera.

The two duelists turned out to be closer than ever on their first USPA/AAA Class leaderboard in the 4-way Advanced Class. CSC Constellation competed only at the USPA Nationals that year but managed to maintain a three-point advantage over SDC QuadRhivium through the finish. CSC Constellation XP went on to win the bronze medals behind two Air Force teams. However, the Midwest neighbors had caught up after attending two MWSL outdoor meets before last year's national championship in Eloy.

CSC Constellation XP - SDC QuadRhivium at the USPA Nationals 2024
First win over CSC Constellation this month: SDC QuadRhivium
The same duel continues this year. SDC QuadRhivium have returned with the same AAA Class lineup they had in 2025, while CSC Constellation's team founders and original members, Natalie Rodriguez and Russell Bayuk, have had to accommodate two new team members. Marion Stallworth has taken the tail slot, Steve Vigliotti the point position, while Casey Long was back on camera for CSC Constellation last week.

The first meet of the Midwest Skydiving League this year had to be canceled, and both teams used the August competition as their final test before the USPA Nationals 2026. This time, lineup consistency gave SDC QuadRhivium a significant advantage in their first duel of 2026.

The team from Skydive Chicago won all six rounds by a total of 14 points, and its 13.8 average would have been enough for the silver medals at the USPA Nationals 2025. Only one of the state-sponsored Air Force teams scored higher last year, when CSC Constellation won the AAA/Advanced Class bronze medals with a 12.9 average. Two weeks remain for additional training and final preparations before Round 1 at Skydive Perris.
