The story included the formation skydiving activities organized by former SDC Rhythm XP member Christy Frikken, which extend well beyond 4-way and 8-way competition.

The same story also highlighted how Christy Frikken connects skydivers in the Southern California area through her own league system. Her activities reach beyond participants in the 4-way and 8-way events that have traditionally been the main focus of the National Skydiving League 4-way Network and the NSL News.

Christy Frikken offers even more beyond running the SCSL 4-way meets and the separate league system with its additional events. For years, she has shared her extensive training and competition experience with her participants and the wider skydiving community through the Christy Frikken Blog, which is part of her coaching services.

Her coaching articles cover 4-way, 8-way, big-way, tunnel flying, competition strategy, and team dynamics. They are publicly available to the formation skydiving community, providing free, expert advice from a former world-class competitor. Christy Frikken's own 4-way career reached its peak with a silver medal in 4-way Open at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2021 in Tanay, Russia.

Her first blog was published in 2016 and focused on Block 7 (Sidebuddies – Sidebuddies). At the time, she was transitioning from her former 4-way team, Perris Fury, one of the strongest U.S. contenders, toward her future career in coaching and organizing.

In 2016, she was still competing alongside her former Perris Fury teammate Chris Farina as a player-coach for Perris Kiss, several years after Perris Fury had discontinued its competition activities. She returned to the 4-way competition pace when SDC Rhythm XP needed a substitute for JaNette Lefkowitz. She filled the slot in 2020 and continued competing with Doug Barron, Andrew Happick, and Steve Lefkowitz through the USPA Nationals 2021. There, she once again challenged Arizona Airspeed, as she had regularly done with Perris Fury. Christy Frikken remains active as a player-coach whenever opportunities arise.
