Three 8-way teams traveled to Weembi Lille, where all of them had already competed in November last year at the British National Indoor Championships.

The NSL News reported in its 4-way coverage that the British delegation was the second-largest represented at Weembi Lille. The French hosts topped participation in the 4-way Open and 4-way Women categories with six teams, while the United Kingdom followed with five. The British presence was even stronger in the 8-way event, where its three teams equaled the French total on the leaderboard. Octobuzz for Banter, Deton8 and Elev8 were not in the hunt for medals, but they were engaged in competitive battles elsewhere in the rankings, much as the British teams had been in the 4-way competition.

In fact, the most dramatic contests in the 8-way event unfolded at both ends of the leaderboard. Paraclete XP8 (USA) and D'Arc8 (France) were separated by a single point in their fight for the silver medals, while Deton8 and Elev8 were divided by the same margin in their battle to avoid finishing at the bottom of the standings. The two British teams had been 23 points apart at the British Indoor Nationals at the same venue in November last year, where Deton8 held a 114-91 advantage and both teams secured qualification for the FAI Indoor World Cup. Elev8, bolstered by British 8-way legend Martin Soulsby, raised its performance level even more dramatically than Deton8 and turned the rematch into a one-point thriller that lasted through all ten rounds of competition.

The third British 8-way team was well ahead of its two domestic rivals. However, Octobuzz by Banter faced a competitive battle of its own against the second U.S. team on the 8-way leaderboard, Infinite Octane. The British team arrived at Weembi Lille with significantly improved performance and ultimately outscored the U.S. team, which had to replace Jeana Billings, Kirk Verner, and several other former team members in order to field an all-American lineup.

In terms of overall participation, the British delegation was actually the largest in the horizontal formation skydiving events. More British competitors traveled to Weembi Lille than were included in the host nation's lineups. French national coach Mathieu Bernier placed a higher priority on quality than quantity, even though selecting the strongest available French competitors resulted in several athletes competing double duty in both the 4-way and 8-way events.

Three complete 4-way lineups (Aethers, Nephtys, and Les Krocmous Lille) also competed in the 8-way event. AethersNephtys claimed two sets of gold medals in 4-way and 8-way, in addition to silver medals in 4-way Women. The 4-way team Les Krocmous Lille earned silver medals in 8-way with D'Arc8, alongside Gaelle Giesen, who also competed with the 4-way Women team Les Hermines. A total of 35 French competitors collected medals and other top placements, while the British delegation brought 42 competitors to Weembi Lille.
