posted Jun 7th, 2025 - The NSL News pointed out in the aftermath of the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 that China had an all-female 8-way lineup who finished in 4th place in 8-way Open. China's 4-way team, who were also in the same 8-way lineup, won the 4-way Women gold medals and took the 4th place on the unofficial combined AAA/4-way Open/4-way Women leaderboard.

China's indoor delegation did not include a 4-way Open Class lineup, male or female, even though there was a 4-way Open Class team on the leaderboard of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024. The all-male lineup finished in 6th place of the 21 teams with a 26.1 average. The same scoring level would have tied NFTO (UK) and FlyX Amnesya (IT) in 5th place at Paraclete XP in April this year.

Only France, United States, Switzerland and Singapore had teams on both horizontal 4-way leaderboards at Paraclete XP. Aethers Medjay (M) finished ahead of Nephtys (F), Arizona Airspeed (M) ahead of XPG4 (F), and Realfly Fire (M) ahead of Airdrops (F). Only Singapore's 4-way Women team outscored the 4-way Open Class team from the same country. Most likely, China's 4-way Women team would have repeated their female 4-way dominance in the Chinese delegation. The same Chinese 4-way Women lineup was also the only team that represented the country at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024.

Singapore 4-way Women - Singapore 4-way Open - Thailand at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025

Singapore's 4-way Women team actually did at Paraclete XP what China may have done, as well. They defeated their own country's 4-way Open Class team by seven points on the combined leaderboard (150 - 143). The 4-way Open Class lineup was a different one than the one who posted the 17.3 average last year at the indoor world cup.

The 4-way Women lineup were able to maintain their 15-average level with two new team members, which was enough to outscore the 4-way Open Class this time.

Thailand was the fourth country from Asia that was represented on the other side of the globe at Paraclete XP. It was also a different lineup that made the long journey, after the country's presence in 4-way Open at last year's indoor world cup in China. Thailand had a 4-way Women team on the leaderboard last year, as well, who did not compete at this year's indoor world championship. This year's team at Paraclete XP had a mixed-gender lineup. Swiss 4-way Women team Airdrops could not defeat the 4-way Open Class team, Realfly Fire, who finished ten points ahead (217 - 207). The Realfly Fire lineup included Ambra Vitti for another mixed-gender team. Nephtys (F) and XPG4 (F) could not get close to their countries' Open Class teams, Aethers Medjay (M) and Arizona Airspeed.
