Did You Know...

... that Anion Flux XP interfered with the Dutch AA Class order?

Original lineup: Joulz in 2019
posted Jul 8th, 2022 - The Tomscat Trophy 2022 did not offer any exciting battle for the top spots in the three categories. Lux won the AAA Class competition easily in the absence of the Dutch national 4-way team Out OF The Blue, and Chaotic Motion's modified VIXX lineup had signed up for the AA Class, where they had no opposition.

The two new teams in the A Class did not hurt each other throughout the ten rounds, with Crepuscular Effect in the 1st place.

However, a closer look at the AA Class leaderboard is actually showing a fierce battle for the medal positions behind Chaotic Motion VIXX. Two more new Dutch teams in this category, Phoenix and Mad Moves, were challenging Joulz, who have been training and competing with the same lineup in the AA Class since 2019.

Joulz had launched their team at the last Tomscat Trophy before the pandemic in 2019. They won the Dutch AA Class gold medals at the national championships the same year without any opposition, before they completed their first year at the ISR Grand Prix 2019.

The pandemic brought everything to a halt in the Netherlands in 2020, and Joulz were back with the original lineup at the national championships of 2021. Lux won the AA Class gold medals in 2021 and moved up to AAA Class competition this year.

Joulz had three domestic challengers on the AA Class leaderboard at the Tomscat Trophy last weekend, and it was hard work to fend them off for the spot behind the unreachable Chaotic Motion VIXX lineup. The highscores between the four teams behind the winner is showing how close the same three teams were round by round. Even the 5th Dutch AA Class team (Luctor et Descensus) tied one of the highscores in Round 10.

Twice Chaotic Motion gave away a round for one of the other teams. Phalanx won Round 4 fair and square, and the same trio (Joulz - Phalanx - Mad Moves) all outscored the winner in Round 9 with a tied 9-pointer.

At the end, there was only a 5-point difference between Joulz in 2nd place and Mad Moves in 4th place. It is a promising situation in this category if all four teams behind Chaotic Motion VIXX return for the national championships. Chaotic Motion will probably switch back to AAA Class competition.

Anion Flux XP Rounds 1 - 6 of the Tomscat Trophy
Anion Flux XP delegation
Anion Flux XP from Skydive Sebastian interfered with the Dutch AA Class dominance on the combined leaderboard for last weekend. They performed six of the ten sequences on their home turf and took away the AA Class spot behind Chaotic Motion VIXX.

The Sebastian team confirmed their previous meet averages after the six rounds with more technical sequences than at the earlier meets. Both previous competition draws included AA Class Super Sequences, which boosted the meet averages. The 7.8 average is significantly higher than the comparable 6.1 at the Shamrock Showdown 2022, the team's first AA Class competition in March.

Anion Flux XP were three points ahead of Phalanx after Round 6, who were leading Joulz by one point at that time. Joulz then won Round 7 and the Super Sequence over Phalanx and carried the 2-point lead over the Dutch finish line. The Dutch national outdoor championships are scheduled for the beginning of September. Anion Flux XP have their turn at the USPA Nationals a week later.
