... that Out Of The Blue seem to be on track to accomplish a special Dutch goal?

Dutch delegation at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022
posted May 18th, 2022 - Three teams from the Netherlands completed the Dutch delegation at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022. Out Of The Blue and Chaotic Motion competed in 4-way Open, Fatal Four in 4-way Women.

The NSL News covered the impressive performance by the Dutch national indoor and outdoor champions a few times during the battle for the Top 10 positions. The new team record average of 24.0 eventually claimed the last Top 10 position, tied with Echochamber Oceanside from Sweden.

The same lineup had a previous 22.5 average in their records, posted at the Wind Games 2020, the team's last meet before the heavy impact of the corona virus crisis. Two years later, OOTB were back for indoor competition action at Airspace Charleroi and lifted the 22.5 to 24.0 after an exciting 10-round battle for the 10th place with several teams.

It was the first Top 10 finish for OOTB with the current lineup. The 2018 lineup finished in 15th place at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2018, followed by the 15th place at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019. The 22.5 of the new and current lineup at the Wind Games 2020 won the 11th place.

The current OOTB lineup have been training and competing together since December 2018. That's when Ralf Pijnenburg replaced Rick Verbunt, who spent only one year with the Dutch national indoor and outdoor team.

Rick Verbunt joined forces with another former OOTB member to form Chaotic Motion in 2019. Danny Dörfel was in the original lineup of 2017, together with Mandy Feijen, Mechie Voermans and Leon van Leeuwen. Current member Bart Daenen was filming the OOTB lineup at that time.

Danny Dörfel and Rick Verbunt added Sofia van der Vlist and Manuel Klinis to the lineup of their new team in 2019 and consistently increased their performance and scoring level, as well.

Sofia van der Vlist started in the 4-way project that former Dutch national 4-way competitors Erwin van den Braak and Alex Egberink launched in 2017, as the NSL News reported on 30 May 2017. In fact, most of the Dutch 4-way Open Class competitors at Airspace Charleroi originated in the same "Project Dutch FS4 20 Plus" of 2017.

Out Of The Blue have left the targeted 20+ average far behind, at least at indoor competition. The project was actually aiming at lifting the Dutch outdoor average to that level. The financial support of the project was eventually discontinued, while Out Of The Blue keeps getting closer to the same goal.

The 19.0 average at the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 was a very promising outdoor start of the new lineup into the 2020 season, after the two previous 22+ indoor averages. The corona virus crisis then interrupted the progress.

However, the new OOTB lineup still decided to compete at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 in August 2021 and followed up at the Dutch Outdoor Nationals 2021. The indoor world cup in Charleroi now became the end of the indoor part of the 2022 season.

The 20+ outdoor average is probably back on the top of the priority list for this year. The 24.0 indoor average indicates that Out Of The Blue could be well on track to accomplish the much desired goal of Dutch 4-way teams this October in Eloy...
