posted Apr 22nd, 2022 - The three teams who lost their Top 10 positions on the combined leaderboard were already battling enough with each other to finish in the Top 10 on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard. SDC Rhythm XP, Out Of The Blue and Echochamber Oceanside were separated by one single point after all ten rounds.

The positioning was going up and down throughout the meet. Echochamber were tied with Meraki in 8th place at the end of the first day after Round 4, Rhythm tied with Bronteroc in 10th place, Out Of The Blue had the 12th place.

Echochamber dropped to 9th after Round 8 on Friday, while Out Of The Blue had moved up to 10th place, tied with INIT-Y from Brazil. SDC Rhythm XP had lost the Top 10 position with a 12th place at the end of the second day. The U.S. team won the last two rounds by two (OOTB) and three points (Echochamber) and finished ahead of both Top 10 contenders in 9th place.

The 24.1 average was Rhythm's new team record score with the new lineup, after the 23.6 at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship at the end of February. The new lineup had to deal with two well trained teams who came with the same lineups of their previous years. Out Of The Blue posted a significantly increased team record average (22.5 - 24.0) while Echochamber finished below expectations.

SDC Rhythm XP - Out Of The Blue - Echochamber Oceanside at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022

The same three teams who battled for the last Top 10 positions on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard and lost them to HF Cubs and Nephtys on the unofficial combined leaderboard were facing additional pressure from behind.

Nine teams were separated by eight points after all ten rounds and finished between 9th place (SDC Rhythm XP) and 17th place (Bronteroc), respectively 11th and 19th on the combined leaderboard. There was no time without pressure for any team in this area of the leaderboards.

All Top 10 teams on the combined leaderboard, plus SDC Rhythm XP and Out Of The Blue, came well prepared to Airspace Charleroi and peaked at the right time, with only one exception. ISR FireFlash had their top performance at the Belgian Indoor Nationals, which took place only a few weeks before the indoor world cup.

NMP PCH HayaBusa were able to increase their 28.4 to 30.9 between the same two events and were rewarded with the FAI bronze medals, while ISR FireFlash ended up in 4th place.
