posted Nov 30th, 2018 - Weembi Mix member Julien Degen and his staff at Weembi Lille are ready to launch their special event again this weekend, the "Weembinamic 2018".

The format of the competition is different than at the traditional Formation Skydiving meets. It is a combination of qualification and elimination rounds, while all teams still complete ten rounds. Julien Degen ran a test meet as an 8-way competition in December 2016 and then followed up a year later in 4-way and 8-way.

For this weekend's Weembinamic he has also added the AA Class competition to the event with the same format. The participation in 4-way has grown from 11 teams last year to 17 this weekend, while the 8-way event has become even more popular (7 - 8 - 16).

The NSL Power Rankings for both events introduce the teams, which are a very colorful mix of well known names with scoring histories and several high-profile pickup teams. The names of male and female French world champions appear in a variety of different lineups in both events. Most of the members of the French national 4-way and B-teams compete in more than one lineup for their own pleasure and as player coaches, as well. Organizer Julien Degen himself competes in two different 4-way teams and two 8-way teams.

Especially the pickup teams have very interesting lineups, and one of them is in the top position of the NSL Power Rankings. Girls Just Waana Have Fun has Italian Amnesya member Chiara Brunetti in the lineup, together with FAI Indoor World Cup 2018 winners and FAI 4-way Women world champions Christine Malnis and Sophia Pecout. French B-team member and Aerodyne Weembi Girls alternate Gaelle Giesen completes the lineup.

The fun-loving French/Italian combination will probably battle with their outdoor world champion team mate Clementine Le Bohec, who is joining forces with Damien Gouriou and Charles Rommel of the French national team in 4-way Open. B-team member Aurelien Lemaire is completing this lineup.

The Weembi French Girls are not the French national team in 4-way Women, even though Clementine Le Bohec is competing in her second Weembinamic 4-way lineup. Three French B-team members, who recently won the silver medals for France at the FAI Indoor World Cup (Claire Victoire De Fleurian, Jessica Thebault, Elise Poindron) will benefit from her advice and experiences.

The three different combinations of French national 4-way competitors will still face tough competition by Tenanine and the Weembi Legion with a very strong lineup.

Qatar Falcons at the French Indoor Nationals 2018 - Weembi Girls at the French Indoor Nationals 2017

The 8-way competition with 16 teams promises even more exciting competition. The Qatar Falcons will try to defend their 1st place that they took over the Weembi Girls after a thrilling 1-point battle at the French Indoor Nationals 2018. The Qatar Falcons visit Weembi Lille for the second time, where they will collect more experiences at the hosting venue of the FAI Indoor World Meet in March 2019.

Weembi Girls placed 2nd behind the Belgian Fly-In Thund8rbirds in December 2016 and then won the Weembinamic 8-way competition last year over Veloce QRF. Qatar Falcons, Weembi Girls and the international Veloce QRF signature lineup guarantee for a high-profile 8-way competition.

It becomes even more interesting with the German national 8-way team visiting this time. Thomas Spielvogel is back in the lineup after missing the FAI World Meet in Australia due to a last-minute injury. Airbus is missing Max Thiele though who will be replaced by the team's 8-way coach Marco Arrigo.

The Italian 4-way and 8-way veteran competes with Tenanine in 4-way and is usually a member of the Veloce QRF signature lineup. Veloce project leader Martial Ferre may have to find a substitute, as there is not only this conflict of interest with Airbus coach Marco Arrigo. Veloce QRF also includes three German 8-way competitors (Petra Baerenfaenger, Henning Stumpp, Uwe Soppa) who will be eager to beat the German national 8-way team...
