NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that Arizona FM impressed with supportive sportsmanship and high scores?

NSL Indoor Championship 2018
posted Nov 16th, 2018 - The first part of the NSL Ultimate 4-way Championship 2018 was completed on Thursday night at iFLY Tampa. Nine teams finished the indoor day with the ten rounds of the World Tunnel League's November draw.

Three Arizona Airspeed members had prepared participants with earlier indoor training camps on Thursday for the concluding competition at the end of the day. Mikhail Markine and Ari Perelman had traveled to Florida with their indoor team, Arizona FM, which is the high-profile playing field for team founders Jimmy Xu and Ian Pedowitz.

Both eventually helped out other participants of the indoor training camp on Thursday, as well, when Niklas Hemlin's arrival in Florida was delayed due to serious problems with his commercial flight connection from Arizona to Tampa. He was supposed to conduct the indoor training camp before the competition with several participants.

He made it to Tampa just in time to compete with his lineups, and the whole Arizona FM lineup supported Mikhail Markine's and Ari Perelman's efforts to fill the coaching slots and flying sessions adequately that Niklas Hemlin had planned for the day.

Arizona FM at the NSL Indoor Championship 2018
Despite the compromised training plans on Thursday, Arizona FM was still prepared well enough by the Airspeed members to finish with an impressive 22.3 average after the ten rounds in Tampa. It was the fourth set of indoor scores that Arizona FM posted this year, and there was strong competition on the AAA Class leaderboard.

The winter season of the Czech Tunnel League began this week at the Hurricane Factory, and six Czech AAA Class teams took on the same ten sequences. Arizona FM finished five points ahead of the Czech 4-way indoor and outdoor champions, HF Flying Circus, followed by two more Czech AAA Class teams and the Skydive University team from Slovakia.

Arizona FM are not trying to win this year's NSL Ultimate 4-way title and had only the indoor part of the NSL weekend on the team agenda. However, Ian Pedowitz and Airspeed's Ari Perelman continued with the first outdoor rounds in other lineups on Saturday at Skydive City, where the same ten sequences will be performed.

Several more teams will add their outdoor scores to the leaderboard on Saturday. Teiwaz, Platinum XP and Pilas from Guatemala opened up the outdoor leaderboard on Friday after competing the night before at iFLY Tampa.
