NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that the current NMP PCH HayaBusa lineup finished with a new record average in Belgium?

Belgian Outdoor Nationals 2018
posted Sep 24th, 2018 - The NSL News mentioned a few times this year that NMP PCH HayaBusa, the reigning 2-time world champions of 2014 and 2016 in 4-way Open, had plans for only one outdoor competition before trying to defend their title at the FAI World Meet 2018 in Australia.

It was the Belgian national championship at the beginning of the month where HayaBusa completed the only ten outdoor rounds in 2018. The update on 21 September 2018 included the AAA Class scores and featured the meet videos of ISR FireFlash. The story also zoomed in on the battle between FireFlash and Echochamber, the two strongest unofficial amateur teams in the world, for the spot right behind NMP PCH HayaBusa.

The leaderboard of the Belgian Nationals 2018 is also showing how the four teams performed at their national championship who just won the ESL Spirit for the Belgian delegation in Saarlouis. All four teams had less than two weeks before posting the next scores, and each of them finished with a new team record average at the ESL Championship 2018. The NSL News is now following up on the ISR FireFlash meet videos with the ten rounds of NMP PCH HayaBusa.

27.8 at the FAI Mondial 2012
NMP PCH HayaBusa seems to be ready for the world meet after finishing with a new team record average for the current lineup.

Jeroen Nollet had replaced Roy Janssen after the first gold medals for Belgium at the FAI World Meet 2014 in Prostejov. HayaBusa won again in 2016, and the new lineup's highest outdoor meet average was the 27.0 average at the USPA Nationals 2017 in Perris, California.

The highest 10-round meet average in the HayaBusa history is still the 27.8 that the previous lineup posted at the FAI Mondial 2012. It was still one point short of Arizona Airspeed's 27.9 that won the gold medals in Dubai.

The current HayaBusa lineup is now inching upward to this historic number and was only three points behind with the 27.6 average this month. In fact, the team's pace is already on the 28+ level, as only the five point deductions kept HayaBusa from the first 28+ average in history.

NMP PCH HayaBusa's recent 27.6 average is probably not encouraging much for the two main opponents, Arizona Airspeed (United States) and Aerodyne Realfly (France), who must be hoping for the defending world champions to stumble in Australia to have a chance for gold, too.

Defending 4-way champions: NMP PCH HayaBusa at the FAI Mondial 2016
Arizona Airspeed posted their most recent scores just a few days after the Belgian championship at the USPA Nationals and finished with a 25.5 average. The best meet average of the French national team this year was the 25.7 at the May meet of the Coupe de France.

NMP PCH HayaBusa is still keeping their eyes on the two challengers who both have the potential to step up to the same Belgian performance level. HayaBusa members mentioned that they were impressed with the Airspeed scores at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2018.

However, the Belgians also have other plans and targets. It's not only the standing team record average of 27.8 that's on the list. The 28+ level is obviously in reach, and HayaBusa plan to be the first team in history to set a new benchmark in 4-way Formation Skydiving competition. The perfect opportunity is coming up in Australia - with a favorable competition draw...
