NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that the FAI Indoor World Meet featured an internal Czech AAA Class battle?

Bronze medals for the Czech Republic: HF Junior Cubs
posted Nov 2nd, 2017 - The Indoor Cloud League competition for the month of October is over, and the latest submissions will still fill up last month's leaderboard until this weekend. The new six sequences for November are posted and can be used for the new leaderboard.

The Czech October total of 160 points in the Hurricane Factory is this year's record number and will be very difficult to beat. HF Bad Boys and HF Junior Cubs were very well prepared with their indoor training for the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 and contributed heavily with their scores for three categories (AAA - AA - A).

The NSL News reported recently how the 4-way juniors have been moving the AA Class standards to a new level, and the HF Cubs have been a part of this revolution ever since Czech 4-way godfather Jan Klapka included his 4-way juniors at events of Indoor Cloud League and World Tunnel League. The HF Cubs won the FAI bronze medals in Montreal with a 22.6 average for the 8-round meet in the AA Class.

The 30 points for the Czech ICL team was now the last time that the young ladies could contribute heavily with A Class points. The HF Cubs will compete with all other Czech AAA Class teams in the future for the honor to post ICL scores for the AA Class sequences. The 20-pointer for October was the first warning for the Bad Boys who added the 25 points to the total.

The HF Bad Boys did not have the usual competition last month with HF Chicks and HF Flying Circus for the highest scores of the two Open Class sequences (AAA - AA). However, HF Bad Boys and HF Chicks had their own unofficial and indirect 10-round duel in Montreal.

Bronze medals for the Czech Republic: HF Chicks
The Bad Boys posted their scores on the Open Class leaderboard while the HF Chicks competed in 4-way Women.

Both teams could look across the leaderboards to compare their scores, and the NSL News provided an overview on 26 October. Today's modified leaderboard narrows the scores down even more and is showing only the Czech scores in Montreal.

The HF Chicks won the second set of bronze medals for the Czech Republic in Montreal with a new team record average, while the HF Bad Boys tied their highest average in a 10-round meet without a Super Sequence.

Result of these two Czech performances in Montreal was an exciting internal Czech 6-point battle throughout the ten AAA Class sequences.

The HF Chicks were probably more focused on their other battle for bronze medals in 4-way Women. Team X from Sweden was nine points ahead of HF Chicks after Round 4. The Czech team then picked up the pace and created a showdown at the last round. Team X was still up by one point, and the HF Chicks won the bronze medals literally in Round 10.

The internal Czech duel still had its own exciting and similar story. The Bad Boys had the same advantage as Team X with a slow start of the HF Chicks and were three points ahead after Round 5.

HF Bad Boys in Montreal
Then they fell victim to the strong finish of the Czech national indoor team in 4-way Women just as much as Team X at the end.

Fact is that the HF Chicks have taken back the AAA Class top spot in the Czech Republic at this point in time, while the HF Bad Boys still posted new top scores on the ICL October leaderboard.

Both teams will soon have the next opportunities to continue with the AAA Class battles, as the Czech World Tunnel League indoor season begins very soon.

The third Czech 4-way team in Montreal, the HF Cubs, could not join the internal race between HF Bad Boys and HF Chicks, as the 4-way juniors apply the AA Class dive pool at FAI/IPC events.

However, they will also have the opportunity to measure themselves directly with the senior teams at the coming WTL and ICL events...
