Did You Know...

... that the Czech teams switch back and forth between indoor and outdoor competition?

Still to come: Elements ICL scores
posted Aug 31st, 2017 - The Indoor Cloud League competition has continued while most of the active 4-way teams are also jumping from air planes for training and competition. The national championships of most countries are taking place at the end of the summer season, as the recent leaderboards have been showing.

However, indoor training continues at the same time and usually parallel with outdoor training, and several teams continue to add their ICL scores to the monthly leaderboards.

The Czech 4-way teams attend their national outdoor championships this weekend, and they still posted scores and videos in all six ICL categories for the month of August. In fact, it was one of the busiest ICL leaderboards that Jan Klapka sent from the Hurricane Factory this year.

He said that he is not even completely done yet, as one of his teams, the Elements, have ICL scores and videos for the August sequences, as well. The total of 113 points might still grow to a similar level as in the last three months (144 - 138 - 130).

HF Flying Circus at the ESL Championship 2016
HF Bad Boys and HF Chicks were once again battling for the top spot after the two Open Class sequences (AAA - AA) that the Bad Boys defended by one single point. HF Flying Circus was only shortly behind, and Accord performed the same sequences, as well. Bad Boys, Flying Circus and Accord will now switch to outdoor competition and compete for 2017 medals this weekend.

HF Flying Circus, with Jakub Klapka in the lineup, is planning to challenge the HF Bad Boys with father Jan Klapka at the national championships before traveling to Germany a few weeks later for the ESL Championship 2017 in Saarlouis.

The Czech team won the AA Class competition of the ESL Championship last year and moved up into the AAA Class with the beginning of the 2016/2017 indoor winter season. Then they attended two outdoor meets (10.5 - 11.3) in the highest 4-way category and will now try to get as close as possible to the Czech national champions.

The ESL Championship will be this year's international outdoor opportunity for HF Flying Circus and other teams that did not make it to the FAI World Cup 2017 at the same location.

Four of the Czech teams on this month's ICL leaderboard from the Hurricane Factory do not compete this weekend at the national outdoor championships.

HF Junior Flies at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016
The all-female lineup of the HF Chicks is exclusively specialized on indoor training and competition and might compete for the Czech Republic in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 at SkyVenture Montreal in October.

That's the same event where the HF Junior Cubs will represent the country in the 4-way Junior category, and the HF Bad Boys will travel to Canada, as well. All three teams will have their own separate leaderboards at the FAI/IPC event.

The Cubs submitted the 19-pointer for the A Class sequence in August.

HF Junior Flies and HF Junior Chameleons added the three Rookie Class scores (RRR - RR - R) to the ICL leaderboard. The Flies had competed at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016, together with the Cubs. This time, only one team can represent a country at the indoor world championships, and the Flies will have to stay at home...
