... that iFLY Tampa has joined the Indoor Cloud League 14+ competition?

iFLY Tampa team last Thursday
posted Jan 28th, 2017 - The new year of the Indoor Cloud League begins with a new team on the 14+ leaderboard.

The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 22 January 2017 that teams and competitors of the Florida Skydiving League will have the opportunity to post scores for the monthly 14+ sequences at iFLY Tampa. The first ICL event at the brand-new wind tunnel took place on Thursday, and the iFLY Tampa team posted a complete set of six scores and videos.

The FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Tampa attracted a different group of 4-way competitors, who are mostly coming from Florida's west coast on the Gulf of Mexico. Most of them have their home DZ at Skydive City in Zephyrhills, which is within short driving distance.

USPA Intermediate Class gold: Z-Hills PreciZion
The iFLY Tampa team included two USPA Intermediate Class champions of 2016, Erica Gorski and Jimmy Xu, who won their gold medals with Z-Hills PreciZion in Eloy last year. The team's player coach Sally Hathaway was also at iFLY Tampa and guided the Rookie Class lineup to the two posted scores for the RR and R sequences.

Erica Gorski and Jimmy Xu are going different directions this year. The Sun Path Products NSL News introduced Jimmy Xu's new team DeLand Fast4ward on 16 January 2017, and he will train and compete in the AAA Class.

Erica Gorski also has to move up into the AAA/Advanced Class after winning the USPA Nationals in the AA/Intermediate Class. She has no new team plans for this year; however, she used the same opportunity in Tampa to take on the complete dive pool, and the AAA Class sequence brought a slot switcher to her and front piece partner Sebastian Jimenez at her first event in the new category.

iFLY Tampa's AAA/AA lineup
Christine Freiherr, who is a highly experienced 4-way AAA/Open Class competitor, completed iFLY Tampa's AAA/AA lineup in the inside center slot, and the team posted impressive scores for the two sequences.

The first Indoor Cloud League event at iFLY Tampa also brought together other former team mates. James Hopkins and Amer Kassas are both original SDC ZEUS members. James Hopkins has not been with ZEUS last year, while Amer Kassas continued and has a new 2017 lineup with player coach Robert Chromy.

John Stares and Erica Gorski were 4nicatorZ team mates in Florida's Rookie Class of 2013. Scott Jones trained and competed with SCZ FutheranZe XP last year and finished in 9th place of 26 teams at the same event of the USPA Nationals 2016 where Erica Gorski and Jimmy Xu won their gold medals.

The current 14+ January competition of the Indoor Cloud League has teams and competitors of the Northwest and Florida Skydiving Leagues back together on the same leaderboard who launched the ICL project years ago with the original indoor duel between iFLY Orlando and iFLY Seattle.

Both teams were separated when the Indoor Cloud League split into a leaderboard for the 12+ flying chambers and another one for more sequences that could be accommodated by 14+ wind tunnels. Only the Rookie Class sequences have been identical since the separation.

The new iFLY Tampa tunnel allows the Florida Skydiving League group to join both leaderboards and meet the Northwest Skydiving League once again for their original duel. Florida was stronger in the AAA/AA categories, and both teams tied their scores in A and RRR. The Rookie Class (RR - R) made the difference in January, and iFLY Seattle is six points ahead at this point in time...
