Did You Know...

... that DeLand Fast4ward has launched the 2017 season with ten training jumps?

New team : DeLand Fast4ward
posted Jan 16th, 2017 - The plans of a new 4-way team in DeLand were recently finalized. DeLand Fast4ward met in December to discuss the options and then set the 2017 schedule. The first training camp was scheduled for this weekend, and Fast4ward completed ten jumps.

Player coach Gilles Dutrisac said that his team is aiming at 200 training jumps this year, plus approx. ten hours of wind tunnel time. DeLand Fast4ward will jump from the DeLand planes and start each training weekend with indoor training at iFLY Tampa.

The team members are very familiar with indoor training and competition after years of participation at Indoor Cloud League and FSL Tunnel Kicker events at iFLY Orlando. The Florida Skydiving League has now added the same events for the 14+ flying chamber in Tampa to the indoor schedule.

DeLand Fast4ward will compete in the Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals 2017. Tail Jimmy Xu has to move up after winning the Intermediate Class gold medals with Z-Hills PreciZion at the USPA Nationals 2016. His new team is aiming at a medal position in the Advanced Class, as well.

James Hall competed with DeLand Momentum (Andrea Geering, Mariuschka Lovera, Hal Spence, Michael Baker on camera) in the Advanced Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2015 and missed last year's national championships. He and Andrea Greening still wanted to continue together with a new team and kept in shape until the next opportunity would come up.

They were rear piece partners with Momentum and will be separated in the new team.

Gilles Dutrisac with Tempest in 2009
James Hall is moving to the Point slot, and he has been preparing himself for the new position for a while by learning the front piece work at the Indoor Cloud League and Tunnel Kicker events. His new piece partner is Gilles Dutrisac who has been in both front piece slots for a long time.

He started in Florida with FSC Wind Damaged in 2007 and continued with Sebastian Tempest in 2009, where he had Arizona Airspeed member Thiago Gomes as a team mate for a few years. After his time with Tempest Gilles Dutrisac kept himself busy as a player coach with Florida Skydiving League teams and Indoor Cloud League events before a full 1-year comeback with Mercury XP/Hg XP in 2015.

He used the 2016 season to get a necessary knee surgery behind and be physically ready for the next player coach team project. He was following James Klinge's guidance in 2015. This time, he is back in the player coaching slot on a higher level. Videographer Jens Esselstrom is committing to a 4-way team plan for the first time after filming at FSL meets randomly over the years. DeLand Fast4ward will post the first scores at the Shamrock Showdown 2017.
