Did You Know...

... that Florida completed the February Indoor Cloud League sequences on Thursday?

Florida February group at iFLY Orlando
posted Feb 13th, 2015 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 6 February 2015 that Florida's Indoor Cloud League group at iFLY Orlando got help and a head start from the Golden Knights for the February competition.

Last Thursday, indoor flyers from Florida met again at iFLY Orlando to follow up with scores for the other four categories. The Florida group did not even make the effort to perform the AAA Class sequence, as the US Army's 28-pointer was worlds away from the potential of the AAA Class competitors in the Florida group.

However, one lineup at least included the AA Class sequence (G,9,11) in Thursday night's agenda for training purposes and ended up 12 points behind the US national team in 4-way Women. The Golden Knights are still training in Central Florida, even though the female 4-way lineup missed a day with the complete lineup when Point Danielle Woosley fell sick. Coach Solly Williams filled the slot for a day.

The infamous Cataccord in iFLY Orlando's 12-foot flying chamber
The Florida group filled up the leaderboard with all missing scores in the other four categories last Thursday.

The theme of the month of February is the "Cataccord" (Random Formation G), which has not been a part of any previous draws so far.

The sequences of the monthly Indoor Cloud League competition have to fit into any wind tunnel flying chamber to allow any indoor group to participate in the popular 4-way recruiting project.

The Cataccord is a very challenging Random Formation for a 12-foot flying chamber and has been excluded so far.

However, the progression of flying skills and coaching techniques eventually opened up the potential to add the Cataccord to the ICL dive pool, and all sequences for this month eventually include the Cataccord.

The first scores from Florida are showing clearly that the Cataccord is a more challenging formation than the Open Accordean (F) of the January sequences. Last month's R Class lineups at iFLY Orlando posted scores in the 30s, and the Czech Flying Circus won the January competition with a 58-pointer. The Cataccord limited the first R Class score to 14 points at iFLY Orlando.

Three different lineups posted the missing scores for the other four categories. New 4-way team DeLand Flashpoint (Alix Raymond, Steve Hubbard, Jim Prochaska, Jairo Garcia) won the internal Florida competition for the RRR Class honors on the ICL leaderboard. Player coaches James Hall and Sebastian Jimenez guided Michael Patterson and Bob Palatka to the best scores in the RR and R categories.

Sandy Carruth attended her second ICL event and collected her first challenging Cataccord experiences, while Ben Hill's first 4-way experience started in the difficult Cataccord Tail slot. The Florida group comes back together again next Thursday to improve the standing iFLY Orlando scores.
