posted Dec 4th, 2012 - Protecting the lead was successful for the Golden Knights in 8way today. It did not work so well for the other two teams of the US delegation, Arizona Airspeed and the female lineup of the Golden Knights.

Arizona Airspeed at least managed to still share the lead with NMP-PCH Hayabusa after today's two rounds. The Belgians were in attack mode and went already a point faster than Airspeed in Round 7. Only a 1-point deduction made it a tie in this round.

Then the Belgian team even added a few knots to the pace and performed almost like the French team in Round 10 at the World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk. Airspeed now had too accept Hayabusa sharing the lead going into the semifinals tomorrow. At the same time, Aerodyne Aerokart fell out of the 3-team race for gold medals. Two penalties made it a 9-point difference to Airspeed and Hayabusa. Mathieu Bernier will still be the only FS competitor in history who won gold medals in 4way and 8way.

The Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders went even a step further than Hayabusa. They won Round 8 by two points over the Golden Knights and took the lead for the first time in this competition. The NSL News was with the team when Round 8 was shown on the screen late in the evening.
