Did You Know...

... that Nasr Neyadi announced the new FAI United Arabian Emirates Skydiving Federation?

Dirtdive in the dark: Germany's 8way team EADS
posted Nov 30th, 2012 - It's hard to imagine, but it's true: It is raining on Friday morning at the Mondial 2012.

All teams are released until noon except two. Evolution from Canada and the Brit Chicks 4way lineup did not get to make their second round yesterday due to darkness. The meet management tries to get them in the air earlier than the other teams and catch up.

The weather situation gives the NSL News the opportunity to catch up, as well. The new NSL Reality TV clip begins with evidence of the rain on Friday morning and then turns to a press conference that took place Thursday afternoon before members of the 8way teams from Netherlands (M8Trix) and Germany (EADS) finish off the day for the NSL News.

Press Conference at the Mondial 2012
All media representatives were invited yesterday to attend a press conference where Nasr Neyadi officially announced the installation of the United Arab Emirates Skydiving Federation, which he will lead as the new Chairman. At the same time, he also introduced Josef Hassan Hamadi Laub, President of Skydive Dubai and Mondial 2012 tournament director, and Mohammad Yousuf, Chairman of the tournament and board member of the technical committee.

This move provides more evidence that Dubai's Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is very serious with his vision of becoming a big player in the skydiving world in general and in skydiving competition, as well. The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, each governed by a hereditary emir, with a single national president. Dubai is one of the emirates, with Emir Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed is the second eldest son of the Emir, and he is a skydiver.

There are currently no other skydiving centers in the Unites Arab Emirates. The Crown Prince wants to spread skydiving to the rest of country, and the new FAI Federation is supposed to support those efforts.

Currently in 10th place: Voodoo from South Africa
Other than that, the NSL News had enough time this morning to take a closer look at the penalty situation through Round 2 in the 4way Open Class and also zoom in on an important part of the leaderboard.

All teams only complete eight rounds before the first cut eliminates all but ten teams. It's a tough call, as 27 teams can pack up then and watch the remaining ten teams on the big screens, which will hopefully be ready to show the final 4way meet action at that time.

The adjusted leaderboard provides an idea of the teams who will be near both cut lines. It will be an exciting competition for those slots, as the leaderboard already shows after only two rounds. Voodoo from South Africa is currently the 10th team to make the semifinals, which Australia's national team Rotor Out is only missing due to penalties. Bardagi from Sweden is on the heels of Germany's Paratec-Saar and UK team Satori.
