posted: Jul 26th, 2007 Each meet weekend seems to offer a lot of great scores and information this year so far. The 4-way community is still growing, more meets are becoming more exciting, and many of the teams are becoming more competitive. At the same time, a growing number of teams and competitors seem to attend the meets just to have a lot of fun for one day every month. In addition, the growing number of high-profile competitions bring some extra spice and excitement to the normal league and meet operation mostly in the USA and in Europe. News Article Did you know that the NSL News will cover the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007 live on site?
posted: Jun 1st, 2007 The NSL News special event coverage has added one more high-profile competition to the line-up of world-class 4-way events this year. The Raeford Parachute Center in North Carolina is the host of the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007. The event is scheduled for July 28 - 29, 2007. The month of July 2007 offers a lot of prize money to the best 4-way teams in the world. The total amount of $50,000 is in the July jackpot. $36,000 will be handed out at the Malevsky Cup 2007, additional $16,000 will be divided between the teams on the first three places at the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2007. News Article Did you know that FS competitors executed a stunt demo at a NASCAR race last weekend?
posted: May 29th, 2007 Several west coast competitors joined forces last weekend to execute a demonstration jump at a NASCAR race in Charlotte, the Coca Cola 600. Tom Sanders of Aerial Focus, one of the most experienced professional freefall photographers in the history of skydiving, was in charge to put the stunt together and recruit the group of skydivers. The demo at the NASCAR was a promotional stunt for an action movie that will soon come to the mainstream movie theaters: the "Rise of the Silver Surfer". News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights competed with John Hoover in the line-up?
posted: May 25th, 2007 The scores of the Carolina Skydiving League have been added to last weekend's leaderboard, which is now complete. A total of 34 teams competed at five different locations and made it the biggest field of the 2007 season so far. Dan Winkelstein managed the CASL meet in Raeford for league director Randy Garman and provided the meet information. The CASL 8-team field included the Golden Knights with a change in the line-up. The NSL News story on April 27 briefly mentioned that Eric Heinsheimer injured his neck at the CASL season opener on April 21. The injury is more serious than it seemed to... (more)
News Article Did you know that Fast Fockers made a big step in Carolina?
posted: Apr 27th, 2007 The past weekend brought the first inter-league competition this year. The Carolina Skydiving League launched the 2007 season with its first 4-way meet at Carolina Sky Sports, while teams of the Florida Skydiving League competed in Lake Wales at the same time. The report of FSL Meet 2 was already posted with the NSL News on April 23. CASL Director Randy Garman posted a brief summary of his 4-way competition at the CASL website. The combined scores of last weekend's meets have already been posted on the April 21 leaderboard. (more)
News Article Did you know that Carolina Skydiving League competitors deployed for service duty?
posted: Aug 8th, 2006 The FAI World Meet 2006 is once again on a weather hold. The NSL News uses the break for an update with scores and a meet story of the last Carolina Skydiving League competition. The 4th CASL meet of 2006 was held at Raeford Aviation on Saturday, July 29. There were 11 teams completing, one AAA/Open Class team, six AA/Intermediate Class teams, and four Rookie Class teams. Dan Winkelstein was the meet director. Chris Talbert and Tim D'Annunzio were the judges. One of the Rookie Class teams, Luckiest Guy in Raeford, made their jumps under special circumstances. Two of the team members were... (more)
