News Article Did you know that the Pilatus Porter even challenges the best team in the world?
posted: Apr 22nd, 2008 The NSL News goes back to the World Challenge 2008 and still connects to yesterday's story at the same time. Airspeed Odyssey's Rounds 8 and 9 of the windtunnel competition have been uploaded, and XL's Round 8, as well. The situation before Round 8 was just as exciting as the whole race between these two world-class teams at Bodyflight Bedford. XL was the 2-point leader after the five rounds of the first day. Airspeed Odyssey came back with full power on Sunday morning, won Round 6 by three points and had a 1-point lead. It looked like a done deal when Airspeed extended the lead to three... (more)

News Article Did you know that NSL-TV now features the Perris Fury - Arcteryx race?
posted: Apr 11th, 2008 The race between XL and Airspeed Odyssey and Hayabusa Defence's first meet attendance in 2008 were surely not the only exciting aspects of the World Challenge 2008. There were several other hot spots in the 39-team field, and the NSL News will try to get to all of them, step by step. In fact, the competition for the 3rd place and £1,500 was just as thrilling as and almost identical with the race for the top spot. Perris Fury and Norway's national 4-way team Arcteryx battled with each other throughout the whole competition and pushed themselves even past the world-class team from Belgium. Neither... (more)
News Article Did you know that Craig Girard and Hayabusa Defence worked together only in training?
posted: Apr 4th, 2008 The NSL News story on 2 April 2008 evaluated the situation of the FAI World Cup champion of 2007, Hayabusa Defence, after competing at the World Challenge 2008 last weekend. The story mentioned that the Belgian top contender had hired Airspeed Odyssey's Craig Girard as the coach for a training camp in Eloy in March. Many people were asking the same question when those plans were made: why would one top contender for this year's medals at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving help another top contender with valuable information and insights? Hayabusa Defence member, Tail Roy Janssen,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Airspeed Odyssey peaked again at the right time?
posted: Mar 30th, 2008 All scores are posted, there was no jump-off, and the World Challenge 2008 is over. Airspeed Odyssey peaked once again at the right time and delivered flawlessly in the most important round of the meet, when the challenge was once again at the highest point. Just like in the first jump this morning, Airspeed came up with a performance level that was simply higher than any others. The situation was very similar, as XL had reduced the Airspeed lead to nothing in Round 9. Airspeed was under the same pressure as on Saturday evening and on Sunday morning. The meet experience and mental strength... (more)
News Article Did you know that Norway's team Arcteryx presents the sequence of Round 7 on NSL-TV?
posted: Mar 30th, 2008 The scores for Round 7 of the World Challenge 2008 have already been posted, while Round 8 is in progress. Team Aeon had no problem eventually knowing about the team's scoring level. Ellie McCoy and her mentors followed up well on the 23-pointer for Round 6 that was featured on NSL-TV. The 37-pointer in Round 7 lifted Aeon to a 22.9 average at the moment. The sequence of Round 7 is being presented by the Norwegian national 4-way team Arcteryx. Two members of the team, Ditta Valsdottir (SDF4ST) and Derek Broughton (Venom), had already competed at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008, while Ole Petter... (more)
