News Article Did you know that Airspeed Odyssey is 15 - 0 in two years?
posted: Oct 21st, 2008 All teams completed ten rounds in the early afternoon, and Airspeed Odyssey did it again, this time with a 24.2 average and seven points over France Maubeuge. This makes it a 15 - 0 record for the 4-way world champions over a 2-year period. In other words: Airspeed Odyssey competed at 15 different indoor and outdoor competitions ever since this lineup was founded and won every single time. Does that say enough? The NSL News followed Airspeed Odyssey around when it was time for the final round. Jack Jefferies observed the team's preparations and likes the way the team engineers the sequences.... (more)
News Article Did you know that there are many battles all over and across the leaderboards?
posted: Oct 20th, 2008 It is quiet now in Eloy after a very busy day. The beer truck area is not as busy as usual after a long day with seven competition jumps for almost all of the teams. The early start on Tuesday morning for the remaining three rounds does not motivate much to hang around for too long, as well. By the way, Larry, the Indian Pale Ale tab is running empty, and so is the one for the German Becks Oktoberfest... Airspeed Odyssey is still controlling the Open Class competition despite a 2-point loss to France and Black Cat in Round 7. It will be interesting to see where this will lead the two challengers... News Article Did you know that Christy Frikken has her place now at the NSL Profiles?
posted: Oct 17th, 2008 NSL-TV has moved fast forward now to Round 6 of the Southern California Skydiving League's September meet. There were two good reasons for this last update before the NSL News switches locations from DeLand, Florida, to Eloy, Arizona. Event judge in Perris and former Elsinore GT member Steve Miller commented Perris Fury's last round of the September meet in a way that made the viewing of this meet video apparently desirable: "By my memory, the next interesting bit is Fury in Round 6. They really got it back on track by then. A really nice clean skydive." (more)
News Article Did you know that Doug Park will follow the USPA Nationals 2008 from home?
posted: Oct 16th, 2008 The live interview with Doug Park, which was already announced with the NSL News story on 14 October 2008, has now been uploaded and can be viewed by clicking here. The interview is only a part of a daily news show, which is currently still in the works for the USPA Nationals 2008. The first "Beta Version" of the show will hopefully be completed and uploaded later today. In the meantime, it is interesting to hear what Doug Park has in mind when he thinks of the upcoming competition. Rob Laidlaw, president and co-founder of Skydive University, joined the interview, as well. He had an appointment... (more)
News Article Did you know that help with the scores came from Russia - and AZDW?
posted: Oct 15th, 2008 It took only a few hours until the leaderboard of the Gauntlet indoor competition in Eloy got its fix, at least in the AAA Class. The Russian team Black Cat heard the NSL News cry for help as a frequent visitor of the website and sent a copy of the leaderboard that is posted at the Black Cat website. Thanks to our friends from Russia and to the attentive 4-way community there. (more)
News Article Did you know that Black Cat is visiting from Russia for the USPA Nationals 2008?
posted: Oct 15th, 2008 It has been difficult to find the round-by-round scores of the Gauntlet indoor competition last weekend. However, there is enough information available to provide a summary of the competition at SkyVenture Arizona in Eloy. A total of 13 teams competed, seven in the AAA/Open Class and six in the AA/Intermediate Class. The field of each competition class included a team that can only perform in a windtunnel, due to the age of team members, Team Aeon and Team Future. The NSL News has already introduced both teams to the audience. (more)
