Did you know that Denmark and Norway have something in common? posted: Jun 2nd, 2009 Denmark hosted its annual DFU Open last weekend, and the current national 4-way team, Voluntas, won the 10-round competition with a 15.6 average.
The national 4-way team until 2006, the DaneZ, tried to steal the top position once again, as Peter Andersen, Jesper Rasmussen, Jess Römer and Mikael Toft did successfully at last year's national championship. Danish Blaze was the national team in 2008 when the DaneZ won by eight points with a 15.6 average. It was a copy of the outcome at the Danish Nationals 2007.
The DaneZ had not allowed any other team from Denmark to get close when they ruled... (more)
Did you know that the UKSL teams had close races in each competition class? posted: Jun 1st, 2009 The NSL News story on 29 May 2009 mentioned that the coverage of the first 2009 meet of the United Kingom Skydiving League would be resumed soon. Phobia member Richard Head now provided additional information and wrote a meet story for the NSL News:
Skydive Weston has a long history with 4-way - six of the medal sets at the UK Nationals 2008 went to teams based there. The first 4-way competition of the UKSL season was no exception with a great turnout of 22 teams. Across the board there was a good mix of new and experienced competitors fighting it out for the first medals of the 2009 season.... (more)
Did you know that GXT is a new all-female lineup from Italy? posted: May 31st, 2009 The NSL News has again a special treat for the NSL YouTube TV audience. The reason for the latest video came with the meet information from Italy where Sinapsi member Livio Piccolo hosted the first competition of the 2009 season at his home dropzone in Fano.
Livio Piccolo and Sara Sacchet, Italian IPC Delegate and Advisor to IPC's Formation Skydiving Committee, provided the meet information of the annual "Shake Competition" in Fano. All six rounds were completed on Saturday, and credit for good meet management and judging was given to Meet Director Roberto Mascio.

Did you know that Fast Arrows is the busiest team of the 2009 season so far? posted: May 30th, 2009 One of last weekend's nine events was the season opener in the Czeck Republic. Actually, it was the first outdoor competition for the Czech 4-way teams, as league manager Jan Klapka had already organized the 2nd Czech Indoor Championship at Bodyflight Bedford in April.
Eight teams competed in three competition classes. It was the first outdoor competition where the Czech teams had the option to sign up for the AA Class. The three teams that competed in the AA Class last weekend, Fast Arrows, All 41 and Monkeys Sky Walkers, had all competed in the A Class throughout the 2008 season and moved... (more)
Did you know that Mr. and Mrs. Head competed for the first time in the AAA Class? posted: May 29th, 2009 The next meet weekend is already coming up, while the NSL News is still trying to catch up with the events of last weekend. The new record number of 86 teams beats the previous NSL highscore of 84 teams on the leaderboard, which was posted on the June 21 weekend last year.
The weather was a well contributing factor last weekend. It is actually quite amazing that each of the nine events in the USA and Europe completed all scheduled rounds. The Rookie Class teams of the Carolina Skydiving League have only four rounds on their meet agenda. All other teams completed six rounds, except the French... (more)
Did you know that the Mideast Skydiving League launched the 2009 season successfully? posted: May 28th, 2009 In spite of a weather forecast that predicted rain, thunderstorms, cats & dogs living together, and the end of civilization as we know it, five teams came out to enjoy a full Memorial Day weekend of jumping. All six rounds were completed with plenty of time left to enjoy the evening. Most of the teams have been in some form of training this spring. Members of Fastrax and Wait & See were donating their time to assist the young teams with engineering, exit and flying tips.
In the AA Class, our new ladies team, Tenacity, exploded out of the gate to take the day with 48 points. They've been working... (more)
