News Article Did you know that the Open Class competition has a very tight middle field?
posted: Oct 20th, 2008 The field in the Open Class is excitingly tight after three rounds, in both "categories". The "pro teams" (1st - 7th place) are close to each other, even though Airspeed Odyssey has already worked out a 4-point lead over France in 2nd place. Performance Desired made it into this group of teams with Jack Jefferies who has not competed in 4-way for may years and had to learn the new blocks after arrival at the competition site in Eloy... News Article Did you know that Monday's NSL-TV page and the leaderboard have the first video links set?
posted: Oct 20th, 2008 The first meet videos have been uploaded, and the links are right on top of the scores on the leaderboard. NSL-TV will try to get as many as possible. It is challenging since the three different judging panels bring three different screens to the audience, which has to pick which one to watch. The NSL-TV feed depends on what Omniskore master Tim Wagner has on his screen. The NSL-TV camera captured scenes around the dropzone this morning. It was a beautiful sunrise in the desert, and the 6:45 am call for the Open Class teams created busy early morning activities in Eloy. The link to this video... (more)
News Article Did you know that new videos introduce Performance Desire on the ground and in the air?
posted: Oct 19th, 2008 This is the last update on Sunday, and it is probably the most exciting one of the day. The new daily NSL/PD News Show or Al's Night Swoop were actually supposed to wrap up the day. Both pieces were almost ready for uploading, but it got too late, and they will be available Monday morning. The NSL/PD News Show included an interview with all five members of "Performance Desire", the world champion pickup team with Jack Jefferies, Dan BC, Shannon Pilcher and Ian Bobo. Willy Boeykens from Belgium is filming the team. The video of this interview has already been uploaded and is available at Sunday's... (more)
News Article Did you know that today's NSL-TV clips page offers the first live impressions?
posted: Oct 19th, 2008 Sunday at the USPA Nationals 2008 is the start of the new event coverage by the NSL News. This page will be dedicated to NSL-TV clips that capture any activities on or off the event site in Eloy. This page will be updated all day long and have a new page for each day. Today's clips actually also cover Saturday evening at SkyVenture Arizona. The NSL News visited the windtunnel after sunset and surprised the French delegation in the middle of preparations for the upcoming selection for the new national teams. The 4-way team from Monaco, with veterans Didier Boignon and Jeff Ronzevalle looking... (more)
News Article Did you know that the NSL News has moved to Eloy?
posted: Oct 18th, 2008 The transition of the NSL News office from DeLand to Eloy is complete, and the preparations on site for the coverage of the USPA Nationals 2008 are in full swing. Skydive Arizona is already quite busy, as several teams have been training here for a few days and others have arrived today for some jumps on the weekend. The competition begins on Monday. The NSL News camera found team Slipstream of the Northern Plains Skydiving League getting ready for a training jump. CSC Rhythm XP was also getting ready to get in the air shortly after the NSL News arrived in Eloy. The Midwest Skydiving League... (more)
News Article Did you know that Christy Frikken has her place now at the NSL Profiles?
posted: Oct 17th, 2008 NSL-TV has moved fast forward now to Round 6 of the Southern California Skydiving League's September meet. There were two good reasons for this last update before the NSL News switches locations from DeLand, Florida, to Eloy, Arizona. Event judge in Perris and former Elsinore GT member Steve Miller commented Perris Fury's last round of the September meet in a way that made the viewing of this meet video apparently desirable: "By my memory, the next interesting bit is Fury in Round 6. They really got it back on track by then. A really nice clean skydive." (more)
