News Article Did you know that the Shamrock preparations are in full swing?
posted: Mar 17th, 2009 The scores of the Aerokart Indoor Championship 2009 have now been replaced by the first scores from Brazil this year. Four AA Class teams competed, and three of them gave each other a good competition over the six rounds. The AAA Class winner of the indoor competition in Paris, France, Hayabusa Defence, currently trains in Spain with coach Joey Jones and almost missed the registration deadline for the World Challenge 2009. The flaw was detected just in time and before the 50-team field was complete. The preparations for the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 are in full swing in the meantime. St.... (more)
News Article Did you know that GKXP is a high-profile Airspeed/Golden Knights combination at the World Challenge 2009?
posted: Mar 16th, 2009 The introduction of the lineups for the World Challenge 2009 continues with a group of very interesting visitors from the USA. The NSL News fans who read the fine-print have probably already detected the team name GKXP on the event page and the names of the team members: Matt Davidson, Andy Honigbaum, Brian Krause and Kirk Verner. The GKXP lineup is obviously a powerful combination of two Golden Knights 4-way experts (Matt Davidson, Brian Krause) and two Paraclete XP veteran 4-way competitors (Andy Honigbaum and Kirk Verner). Paraclete XP already competed with its original lineup (Tim D'Annunzio,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Finland's Pro Team opens an important season at the World Challenge 2009?
posted: Mar 15th, 2009 A team order of NSL Gloves from Finland brought the NSL News attention back to a team from the Scandinavian country that has been covered regularly in the past years. It was still far below freezing temperatures (-23 Celsius or -9 Fahrenheit) in Finland when Laura Miettinen asked for the gloves. She flies the Tail position for the Pro Team. Kimmo Pohjola (Center Outside), Outi Pohjola (Point), Eija Suvala (Center Inside) and Mikko Kajala (Camera) are the other team members. The NSL News had introduced the Pro Team in detail with the story on 3 June 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > search for:... (more)
News Article Did you know that Spaceland Force indoor videos of the February camp are now on NSL-TV?
posted: Mar 13th, 2009 The NSL News has a special appetizer for this weekend before the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 comes up next weekend. The Spaceland lineup that the NSL News introduced already earlier had a windtunnel training camp in February, as the story on 10 March 2009 mentioned. It was the first time that the new world-class lineup flew together, and team member Thomas Hughes put together a video clip for the NSL-TV audience, which can be viewed by clicking here. The opening graphic could be confusing, as it shows a Ninja introducing the team's indoor performance. The NSL News recently learned that the... (more)
News Article Did you know that Brazil has an international high-profile competition history?
posted: Mar 12th, 2009 The upcoming meet weekend is still not one of the busiest this year, as the 2009 season is still in the very beginnings. However, a new competition draw will be posted Friday evening, and teams in Brazil will put some scores on the NSL leaderboard. The NSL News reported on 12 February 2009 that the Brazilian national team CTR Optimum has a new lineup for the 2009 season and provided more details. André Ferraz and Fábio Diniz have been team mates since 2005 and also brought the Brazilian teams into the international NSL Network. Fábio Diniz has now stepped back, and Daiton Ribeiro has taken... News Article Did you know that MD Fooza makes perfect sense?
posted: Mar 11th, 2009 Another interesting lineup has recently been added to the list of teams for the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009. Four top US competitors hide behind the team name MD Fooza, which indicates some of the names of the members. MD stands for Mass Defiance, and the New England Skydiving League team has been covered by the NSL News many times over the years. The last specific MD update was published after the USPA Nationals 2008, on 11 November 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > Search for "Mass Defiance"), with the headline that Mass Defiance still holds the amateur record average in the USA.
