News Article Did you know that 8-way competition has not yet recovered as well as 4-way?
posted: Jan 4th, 2024 The national teams of the United States in horizontal Formation Skydiving competition do not only have a clean participation sheet at world championships since 1985, as the NSL News pointed out with the update on December 28th. The U.S. 8-way teams have dominated the biannual leaderboards even more than the 4-way teams. In fact, only the U.S. delegation had 8-way teams at each of the 20 FAI/ISC events between 1985 and 2022. On top of that, the country's 8-way teams have won medals at each of these 20 world championships, 15 sets of gold medals, five in silver. The 2nd place was the lowest position... (more)
News Article Did you know that Hurricane Factory and iFLY Dallas are heading towards a new Indoor Cloud League showdown?
posted: Jan 3rd, 2024 The NSL News reported in December that the Czech Indoor Cloud League team at the Hurricane Factory had moved closer to iFLY Dallas at the end of September. The iFLY Dallas team had extended the lead at the end of August by 22 points, and Jan Klapka's team in Prague turned it back by 33 points a month later. The difference was down to 29 points (1104 - 1075) before the six October sequences would offer the next opportunity for the Czech group of mostly 4-way junior teams and reduce the iFLY Dallas lead even more. The October results did exactly that, as Jan Klapka' s teams combined for a total... (more)
News Article Did you know that Out Of The Blue keep the Dutch 4-way continuity going?
posted: Jan 2nd, 2024 The overview of participation in 4-way Open at outdoor world championships since 1985 that the NSL News posted on December 28th was showing that only four countries in the world have never missed one of the most relevant events in the sport: United States, France, Belgium and Netherlands. The coverage of Arizona Airspeed's 30-year celebration was mostly related to this special anniversary and did not cover entirely the same 4-way history since 1985. However, the different Airspeed lineups have dominated 4-way competition in the United States since 1994, with a few exceptions, and represented... (more)
News Article Did you know that four Air Force teams had rematches at the USPA Collegiates?
posted: Jan 1st, 2024 The last 4-way competition of 2023 took place at Skydive Elsinore in California. It was even an outdoor competition, which the weather in Southern California allows at any time of the year. However, the USPA Collegiates have been scheduled for this time of the year for a very long time, and the outdoor event needs good weather. As the USPA Nationals, the collegiate championship is an annual event, and it always follows the major event in the United States a few months later in the calendar year. In fact, the date of the Collegiates is even more predictable than the outdoor championship, where... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Skywalkers Junior home in Most has a busy summer schedule?
posted: Dec 29th, 2023 The Czech 4-way teams concluded their 2023 season with their last scores for the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard. Eight teams took on the six different December sequences and finished with a total of 119 ICL points for the month, which brings the Czech total of the year to 1,428 points. It's not a secure position yet, as the iFLY Dallas team could still move ahead of the current Czech position on the top. Six of the eight teams on the last Czech Indoor Cloud League leaderboard of the year had also competed at the December meet of the World Tunnel League, and four of these six teams are responsible... News Article Did you know that four countries have never missed an outdoor world championship since 1985?
posted: Dec 28th, 2023 The NSL News coverage of Arizona Airspeed's, NMP PCH HayaBusa's and Qatar's lineups over the years turned to the consistency of French national teams in 4-way Open, which completed the overview of the currently four strongest teams in the world. The last NSL News update on this topic, with the French lineups since 1985, pointed out that United States and France are two of the few nations that have never missed FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving. Only U.S. 4-way teams have won medals at each of the 20 biannual events, and France left empty-handed only three times (2014, 2021, 2022).... (more)
