News Article Did you know that NSL Power Rankings date back to events in 2000?
posted: Jun 5th, 2024 The recent excursion of the NSL News into earlier decades of Formation Skydiving competition included the history of Paul Hofstee's 4-way and 8-way odyssey in different European teams and his return to the Dutch roots as the new outside center for Out Of The Blue (OOTB). The NSL News found his name in even earlier and unpublished archives before he launched the Punky Fish player-coaching project and then joined the Dutch national 4-way team, Dynamic Fource. Paul Hofstee's previous team, Dutch Fource, competed at each world championship and world cup between 1998 and 2001 before he and Bert Hajee... (more)
News Article Did you know that new NMP PCH HayaBusa point Ray Lodens was outside center in Lake Wales?
posted: Jun 4th, 2024 Larger portions of NSL News coverage were recently related to Arizona Airspeed for a good reason. It does not happen very often that a 4-way/8-way team can celebrate a 30-year anniversary. The attention to this unique celebration began actually in December last year, which was the month when the original Airspeed members completed their plans and negotiations for the 4-way team project. However, the official celebration took place during the Arizona Challenge at the end of last month, as the NSL News reported on May 26th. The NSL News followed up next day with a medal count of 4-way and 8-way... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Czech 4-way teams swept ICL May five years after the first time?
posted: Jun 3rd, 2024 It had happened only once so far in the history of the Indoor Cloud League that one of the participating teams won all six categories with a clean ICL Sweep. It was the group of Czech teams in the Hurricane Factory who generated the total of 144 points in January 2019, as the NSL News reported on 2 February 2019. HF Flying Circus, the Czech Republic's national 4-way indoor and outdoor team by then, posted the highscores for the two Open Class sequences (AAA/AA), and four other teams added the scores for the four additional ICL categories (A/RRR/RR/R). A total of 14 Czech lineups competed with... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Northern California Skydiving League is back this weekend?
posted: May 30th, 2024 The Northern California Skydiving League was launched by Lori Connor in April 2014, seven years after the former Southwest Skydiving League had split up into the Arizona Skydiving League League and the Southern California Skydiving League. The whole state of California was still too large for reasonable regional travel distances between the hosting skydiving centers, and Lori Connor created a separate 4-way schedule for the northern part. She organized the events for six years and soon added the Northern California Tunnel League to the 4-way activities in her region. Indoor Cloud League teams... (more)
News Article Did you know that Arizona Airspeed's front piece could face eight slot-switchers?
posted: May 29th, 2024 The NSL News related to Arizona Airspeed recently even more comprehensively than usual, as the 30-year anniversary was celebrated at the traditional Arizona Challenge last weekend. The actual events that initiated Arizona Airspeed and the historic institution in Formation Skydiving competition happened in December 1993, as the NSL News reported on 19 December 2023. The update on May 26th covered the Airspeed history with more details, including the four years when two different Airspeed lineups, the original team, followed by the succeeding Airspeed Vertical lineup, tried to win 4-way and 8-way... News Article Did you know that three Airspeed members lead in the world's historic medal count since 1985?
posted: May 27th, 2024 The recent 30-year anniversary of Arizona Airspeed was a good reason to take another closer look at the lineups since 1994.
