News Article Did you know that Out Of The Blue were the over-achiever at Crystal Coast?
posted: Oct 25th, 2024 The tightest part of the 4-way Open Class competition at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships actually took place in the lower half of the leaderboard. British 4-way team Apex and Dutch team Out Of The Blue ended up tied in 8th place, with Spanish CISM team Papea only four points behind. Tied totals and positions only get broken, first with an extra round, followed by the tie-breaking rules, if the involved teams are tied in medal positions. However, the application of the same tie-breaking rules behind the medal positions can still define the team that ends up ahead or behind... (more)
News Article Did you know that Siem Ibens has joined Belgian 4-way team Falco?
posted: Oct 24th, 2024 The NSL News honored the retirement of original HayaBusa member Sven Ibens from competitive 4-way training and competition after his last event with ISR FireFlash at the ESL Championship 2024 with the update on September 29th, including new NSL Live Talk. He mentioned during the conversation that his son Siem, 17 years of age, has joined Belgian 4-way team Falco, who competed at the same event at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar in Germany. Siem Ibens had made NSL News headlines already earlier, as the ESL Championship was not even his first outdoor competition. The Ibens family (Annelies Hasewinkel-Ibens,... (more)
News Article Did you know that the pressure is now on the French Aethers?
posted: Oct 22nd, 2024 The situation of Arizona Airspeed after winning the 4-way Open Class gold medals at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships was well explained during the NSL Live Talk conversation with the team on October 11th. NMP PCH HayaBusa's plans for the next two years were already announced earlier this year, and yesterday's story followed up with more information. The same two top contenders for FAI medals will be facing the 4-way Open Class teams from France (Aethers) and Qatar (Tigers) in the same race for the next three sets of world championship medals in two years. All four teams have... (more)
News Article Did you know that Jeroen "Bob" Nollet wants more HayaBusa names on Excalibur?
posted: Oct 21st, 2024 It was 14 years ago when NMP PCH HayaBusa left an outdoor world championship without a medal for Belgium in 4-way Open. As a recreational civilian 4-way team, the original lineup (Sven Ibens, Roy Janssen, David and Andy Grauwels, Bruno van den Eede on camera) had worked themselves up from nowhere to the 6th places in Rijeka 2004 and in Gera 2006. Then they joined the Belgian military forces and won their first FAI medals with the 3rd place in Maubeuge 2008, with Luc Verstrepen as the new inside center for Sven Ibens. Two years later, in Menzelinsk 2010, NMP PCH HayaBusa left empty-handed, again... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skywalkers Junior indicated their indoor level in September?
posted: Oct 20th, 2024 It is time to mix up NSL News coverage of the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships with updates after and of other events that happened in the meantime and are going on recently. The Indoor Cloud League is active all year long with the monthly events at different locations, and the Czech team at the Hurricane Factory in Prague was the first one with scores and videos for the month of September. Skywalkers Junior were still back in September with taking care of the two ICL Open Class sequences (AAA/AA) even though they were active with outdoor training and competition at the same... (more)
News Article Did you know that teams from China and Australia had the longest travel distances?
posted: Oct 18th, 2024 Two teams at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships in North Carolina competed for the longest travel distance to make it to Crystal Coast Skydiving, and both teams won easily in their respective events. China's 4-way Women team traveled from eastern Asia to the U.S. east coast, and 4-way Open Class team Havoc came from Australia. China won silver medals in 4-way Women, while Havoc won the duel with Netunos from Brazil to stay away from the bottom of the leaderboard. Havoc versus Netunos was one of the many internal battles at international FAI/ISC events between teams who are... (more)
