Did you know that the Qatar teams are getting closer to the world meet medal level? posted: Mar 29th, 2018 4-way and 8-way teams from Qatar joined the civilian international Formation Skydiving competition community in 2011. The first two 4-way teams were called the Falcons and the Tigers, and they posted their first scores at the Dubai International Parachuting Championship 2011.
The starting point for the Qatar Tigers was the 13.5 average at this event, while the Falcons later turned into the 8-way team and posted the first scores (6.9) at the end of the same year in the Intermediate Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2011.
Last weekend, and after not too many personnel changes over the... (more)
Did you know that Weembi Elder 8 almost matched their 2015 indoor average? posted: Mar 28th, 2018 The NSL News mentioned during the aftermath of the French Indoor Nationals 2018 that the Weembi Elder 8 team did not have a place on the podium of the award ceremony, despite the highest 8-way average and the fact that all team members are French competitors.
It is normal operation at national championships in France that the selected and government-supported national teams are not eligible for the medals, which are meant to go to all the other French teams who attend. The situation at the French Indoor Nationals was different though, as the French Elder 8 members are not competing for the French... (more)
Did you know that the World Challenge still attracts more teams than any other event? posted: Mar 27th, 2018 NMP PCH HayaBusa member Dennis Praet mentioned during his short visit at the French Indoor Nationals 2018 how difficult it has become for his team to create a meet and training schedule for a year. The ever-increasing number of indoor events are a part of this problem, as it seems that there is not much event coordination going on - at least not at this point in time.
Dennis Praet was hoping, together with many other teams and competitors, that there will eventually be a consolidation and a reliable and reasonably coordinated schedule.
Two completely new events are now interfering with the... (more)
Did you know that Weembi Girls won two French Formation Skydiving titles this year? posted: Mar 26th, 2018 It is not the first time that a Formation Skydiving competitor wins in 4-way and in 8-way at the same event. It has happened only once at a world championship though, when French national coach Mathieu Bernier won gold medals in both events in Menzelinsk 2010, while it is not so unusual at national championships.
In fact, it did not really happen officially this time, as Weembi's 8-way home team, Elder 8, appeared on the French leaderboard only as a guest team for unknown reasons. The 8-way world champions of the older days, who have collected three sets of gold medals for France between 2006... (more)
Did you know that the almost complete Ferre family visited at the French Indoor Nationals? posted: Mar 25th, 2018 Saturday's activities at the French Indoor Nationals 2018 ended with the event's gala dinner at the hotel where the participants are accommodated.
The last NSL News activity was a very special and unique live interview with the almost complete Ferre family. It was not only the Ferre brothers this time, Martial and Marin, who were at the same place and the same location. Did you know that the 4-way juniors have their own ways to get ready and be prepared for competition? posted: Mar 24th, 2018 The first day of 4-way competition was completed at the French Indoor Nationals 2018, and all teams completed six rounds.
The three teams that competed at the Shamrock Showdown 2018 (Aerodyne Realfly, Aerodyne Weembi Girls, Qatar Tigers) are in a very different order just a week later, which is showing once again very clearly how different indoor and outdoor performance is.
Aerodyne Weembi Girls have a 5-point lead over the Qatar Tigers who keep up with the French national team in 4-way Open this time and are in 2nd place with a 1-point advantage. There are four more rounds to go, and the... (more)
