News Article Did you know that GKXP8 blew away the previous world record in Round 9?
posted: Oct 8th, 2024 The 8-way competition had one of its major topics going for a while. The U.S. national team GKXP8 have been chasing the record numbers of the Golden Knights in the last few years, and they now succeeded with perfect timing. The 33-pointer by the U.S. Army's lineup in Dubai 2015 has been the standing record number, and it was matched once by the 2018 lineup of the Golden Knights in Australia 2018. The Golden Knights posted the two 33-pointers for two very different sequences. The 2015 lineup had to master five random formations (F,L,B,G,P), while the 2018 lineup had three blocks (4,1,3) in their... (more)

Jump preparations for the remaining competition rounds were on the agenda for some of them, while others used the free time for recreational activities in the beautiful area of Crystal Coast. There was no break for some of the competitors and coaches. GKXP8 members Kirk Verner and John D'Annunzio are working with the hosting staff of all events, and they were present while the other world championship disciplines launched their own competitions. They will be back in action on Tuesday. most likely in the same order, while the meet management is carefully keeping their eyes on the hurricane that is approaching Florida and the southern states, coming from the Gulf of Mexico this time. The Tuesday schedule will probably depend on the movement of the weather system. The 1-day break in Formation Skydiving competition offers the opportunity to take a closer look at the combined 4-way leaderboard after... (more)
News Article Did you know that neither the Qatar Falcons nor the German Eagles can keep up with the American 8-way Eagle?
posted: Oct 6th, 2024 The 8-way competition at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships could not promise a similar exciting situation as it has been the case in the two horizontal 4-way events. GKXP8 has been too far ahead of any potential opponent since the team began to train and compete with the current lineup. The only pressure that GKXP8 has been facing were the scores and the performance level of other U.S. national teams, especially the Golden Knights. Nothing changed in the first part of the 8-way competition at Crystal Coast where the U.S. 8-way team has won each of the first three rounds by... (more)

posted: Oct 6th, 2024 The event machine of Skydive Paraclete XP and Skydive Chicago at Crystal Coast Skydiving is running as smoothly as can be, and the weather continues to cooperate, as well. Four rounds in 4-way will be completed before noon, and the 8-way teams will probably get the whole afternoon for at least the same number of rounds. The sunrise of Sunday morning followed the sunset at Fort Macon and offered teams and management the timely starting time at 7.30 am. The 12 teams in 4-way Open and five in 4-way Women had their starting order based on each nation's ranking at the previous world championship... (more)
News Article Did you know that the games can begin at Crystal Coast?
posted: Oct 5th, 2024 Training, power rankings and speculations were over at 3 pm on Saturday at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships, while there was still one more playful event waiting for teams and competitors, which took place at Fort Macon on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The opening ceremony is a happy part of world championships and other major events, before it becomes very serious, especially when Round 1 demands the maximum attention of the competitors. Hosting site and weather matched the atmosphere of the participants perfectly at 5 pm in the afternoon, and Meet Director Melissa Nelson... (more)
