News Article Did you know that Airspeed added SkyVenture Arizona tunnel time to the remaining training schedule?
posted: Aug 12th, 2005 The second part of the NSL News visit at SkyVenture Arizona brings the interview with three Airspeed Velocity members, Neal Houston, Andy Honigbaum and Dennis Rook. They took the time to meet with the NSL News in the morning, fly in the tunnel with Pete Allum as the fourth member and demonstrate how to train the whole dive pool in the new SkyVenture tunnel. They also took the time after the flying session to provide additional information in an interview with the NSL News. News Article Did you know that Black Cat and Lady Birds won in Russia?
posted: Aug 12th, 2005 The NSL News received scores from Russia. The national championship in 4-way has been completed last weekend, and the former Sky Panthers, newly named Black Cat, is the old and new Russian 4-way champion in 4-way. The 8-way competition was still on the way when Fyodor Mozgovoy, Malevsky Cup organizer and Lady Birds videographer, kindly provided the information. News Article Did you know that SkyVenture Arizona is running strongly?
posted: Aug 10th, 2005 The NSL News mentioned in the last story that an update on SkyVenture Arizona would be next on the NSL News list. The new SkyVenture wind tunnel at Skydive Arizona in Eloy is now fully functional and in the final stages of getting ready to be opened for the public. The NSL News reporter Kurt Gaebel was recently invited to visit SkyVenture Arizona, eye-witness live flying sessions of an Airspeed 4-way line-up and test the wind tunnel for his own flying experience. The short trip was well worth the effort, SkyVenture Arizona left a strong impression on the NSL News. (more)
News Article Did you know that the AA Class leaderboard has become very tight?
posted: Aug 9th, 2005 The NSL News has currently been on a west coast roll. There were a lot of Southwest Skydiving League competition jumps on NSL-TV, teams were introduced, and the last NSL News story mentioned that the current situation in the AA Class competition deserves special attention, as well. SSL teams Arizona Divewerkz and Elsinore Equinox are much involved in this scenario. The opening of SkyVenture Arizona in Eloy happened to coincide with the NSL west coast swing, and the NSL News used the opportunity for a visit at Skydive Arizona. News Article Did you know that new NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition results come along with new SSL-TV of the same weekend?
posted: Aug 8th, 2005 The new round of NSL-TV comes along with new results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition. NSL-TV has already shown the first three rounds of the Southwest Skydiving League June meet in Perris. Round three has now been replaced with the jumps of round four. The newest results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition cover the same meet weekend of June 25 - 26. It was a very busy weekend. 41 teams signed up in the AAA Class, 15 in the AA Class, 11 in the A Class, 12 teams in the Rookie Class. European teams competed in the AAA Class, A Class and Rookie Class on the same weekend. (more)
News Article Did you know that the new Canadian champion Evolution is a family affair?
posted: Aug 7th, 2005 There was a time in Formation Skydiving competition history when Canada was one of the leading nations in the world. Back in the 70's and 80's, think tank Eric Bradley invented the "Boxman" body position and structured the first and most successful load organizing system in Zephyrhills. Rob Laidlaw was an active competitor and guided Canadian 4-way and 8-way teams to medals at world championships and world cups. He later founded Skydive University together with Tom Piras. Peter Gannaw and Larry Boudreau were well known Canadian names. Michel Lemay goes back to these days, and he is a current... (more)
