News Article Did you know that MidAtlantic Skydiving League teams appreciate John Eddowes' support?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2005 The scores of last weekend's meets and the NSL Playoffs 2005 have begun to arrive at the NSL headquarters, and the first results have been posted. The UK Armed Forces Championships at Netheravon participated inofficially by using the same competition draw. The field of teams in the UK includes the all-female team Airkix, which recently made the NSL News after attending a competition of the Southwest Skydiving League and the UK Nationals 2005. News Article Did you know that DeLand Fire videos show slates on fire in Germany?
posted: Aug 19th, 2005 DeLand Fire recently competed at the German national championships. The NSL News reported scores and the meet story on August 14. Thomas Hughes, usually Fire's videographer and alternate, took the tail slot for Ian Bobo at the meet in Germany and kindly provided the NSL News with meet videos after returning to Florida. (more)
News Article Did you know that new results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition are posted?
posted: Aug 18th, 2005 The NSL News slowly catches up with the results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition. The results of the May 21 weekend are still missing, however, the scores of all other meet weekends until July 16 have now been calculated. The July 9 weekend was not very difficult for the calculator. Only the AA Class teams of the Colorado Skydiving League competed that weekend. The CSL highscorer, Air Force LOC, went into the meet with the benchmark handicap of 1.00 and also finished the competition with the highest raw average of 9.7 after six rounds. News Article Did you know that Team Fila and Monkey Circus battled it out in Austria?
posted: Aug 17th, 2005 The NSL News has reported an annual 3-way race for the national championship of Austria for several years. Three teams are usually prepared to charge for the national gold medals in the beautiful European country in the Alpes, home of the musical "The Sound of Music": Team Fila, Monkey Circus and Matrix. These three teams have battled meet by meet ever since Austria joined the European Skydiving League in 2003. Matrix finished in the Austrian top position most of the times and also represented the country as the national team at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2004 in Croatia. This... (more)
News Article Did you know that Rusty Lewis and Axel Zohmann provided additional SkyVenture Arizona experiences?
posted: Aug 16th, 2005 The NSL News completes the coverage of the recent trip to SkyVenture Arizona with another interview. SkyVenture Arizona's General Manager, Axel Zohmann, and 4-way competitor Rusty Lewis took the time to answer NSL News questions in Eloy. Axel Zohmann is also the videographer for his wife, the freestyle world champion Yoko Okazaki. Rusty Lewis is officially a certified full time Trainer for the International Body Flight Association (IBA), the new company that trains tunnel instructors for SkyVenture and for wind tunnels in general. News Article Did you know that SkyQuest 2005 offers $5,000 cash and more after the NSL Playoffs this weekend?
posted: Aug 16th, 2005 The NSL Playoffs are the official qualification event to the NSL Championship. The National Skydiving League structured its skydiving competition season into different levels from the very beginning and simply copied the successful system of other sports leagues. The first NSL season in 1998 consisted only of the regular season of the first three leagues (Texas, Georgia, Florida) and the NSL Championship 1998 in DeLand. More leagues joined in 1999, and the first move toward the NSL structure of the future was already made at the NSL Championship 1999. (more)
