Did you know that Airspeed's 20-point streak is out of reach for the teams in Russia? posted: Aug 7th, 2007 Russia (Sky Panthers) - France (Maubeuge) - Belgium (Hayabusa Defence), all tied with 87 points after four rounds, what a race. The Belgian team seems to have the strongest momentum at the moment. Hayabusa Defence was four points behind the Russian Sky Panthers after the first round and made up the deficit in the following three rounds with such a very strong comeback. Two sole highscores (Rounds 2 and 4) are now on the Belgian account. The Sky Panthers have the other two highscores for Rounds 1 and 3.

Did you know that Italy seems to benefit more than the Germans from the 8-way coaching situation? posted: Aug 7th, 2007 Round of the 8-way event at the FAI World Cup 2007 in Stupino, Russia, was still completed on Monday. The internet connection in Stupino was down again for a while, and it took a while until the scores became availale for the NSL News.
The two complete rounds in 8-way brought the first break for the 8-way teams already. The 4-way events were scheduled for Tuesday morning, and the scores for Rounds 3 and 4 have already been posted. The 8-way competition will continue later today.

Did you know that the 8-way competition is underway in Russia? posted: Aug 6th, 2007 The 8-way competition is now in full swing, as well. The artistic events are running at the same time. Unfortunately, Omniskore's Pegasus scoring system does not seem to be working very well. FAI Controller Dr. Rainer "Exi" Hoenle mentioned is his last update that the judges of the artistic events have gone back to paper and pencil. There has not been any transmission of artistic competition jumps on the local DZ-TV in Stupino so far, and the scores have not been posted yet.

Did you know that Hayabusa won Round 2 with smart engineering? posted: Aug 6th, 2007 Round 2 changed the whole picture in the Open Class competition already. It looks as if the competition in Stupino will be just as exciting as it could be expected. Belgium's new Hayabusa Defence line-up with Center Inside Luc Verstrepen was obviously not very happy with the first round and came back with force and finesse. The 27-pointer was the highscore for the round and moved the Belgium team up into the second position, tied with the Russian Sky Panthers and only one single point behind the new leader from France.

Did you know that Solly Williams comments from the FAI World Cup 2007? posted: Aug 6th, 2007 The competition at the FAI World Cup of Formation Skydiving has begun. The first round in 4-way has been completed in the Open Class and also in the female category. Some scores of the second round have already been posted.
There are no surprises so far. The two Russian top teams, Sky Panthers and Black Cat, and the French national A-Team Maubeuge, posted scores of 20 points and higher for a relatively slow sequence. They have now the opportunity to copy Airspeed Odyssey's success in getting through a 10-round meet with no scores below 20 points.

Did you know that Evolution won the national championship with a new Canadian record average? posted: Aug 5th, 2007 The World Cup 2007 competition in Stupino, Russia, home of the annual Malevsky Cup, begins on Monday morning. No scores have been posted so far. However, other events have happened in the meantime, including the Canadian Naionals 2007.
Skydive Burnaby was the host for the event, and most of the teams that attended the official national championship had already competed at any of the CanAm 2007 events or other 4-way meets before.
