posted: Dec 9th, 2008 The end of the 2008 season is also an opportunity for a review of the year and even further back in time. There are a lot of scores on a multiple number of different leaderboards posted at the NSL website. In fact, the NSL News covered 109 different events this year, and the scores and related stories can all be found at the Schedule of Events. posted: Dec 8th, 2008 The 2008 season is over, and many teams in Europe and America use the winter time to relax and recover for a little while before beginning with the actual preparations for the 2009 season. At the same time, recruiting and networking efforts are already taking place for teams who have open slots and for competitors and skydivers who are trying to build new teams. Perris Fury has already guided many skydivers in the past years with their team building efforts, and it has become one of Fury's traditional projects at the end of each year to connect people with each other. posted: Dec 7th, 2008 The NSL-TV coverage of the NSL Championship 2008 is now complete. All videos of all teams and all competition rounds have now been uploaded. The last bulk of uploads presents the AAA Class competition. The NSL News story on 12 November 2008 already mentioned that there would be a sad aspect of this year's event. The NSL Championship has traditionally been the last and final showdown of each competition season between two of the longest standing 4-way teams in the country, Optic Nerve and Teiwaz. posted: Dec 5th, 2008 The NSL News goes back to the World Meet 2008. The most relevant event in Formation Skydiving competition has already produced plenty of stories, which can all be found on the three event pages for the three different categories. It is actually an unlimited source for information and thoughts, and the NSL News gives the northern part of Europe special attention this time. The World Meet 2008 served also as an unofficial Scandinavian Championship, as the national teams of four of the five Scandinavian countries competed in Maubeuge (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland). News Article Did you know that FSC Wind Damaged and Perris Jimani both won in DeLand?
posted: Dec 3rd, 2008 The NSL News covered the Rookie Class and the A Class competition at the NSL Championship 2008 already last week with the first stories and all videos in these two categories. Both competitions were thrillers and ended up with 1-point victories for Cold Turkey over Carolina Groove in the Rookie Class and Mile High Mayhem over Zero Tolerance Miami in the A Class. The AA Class competition between Perris Jimani of the Southern California Skydiving League and FSC Wind Damaged from Florida did not end up with a 1-point difference. News Article Did you know that the current dive pool is once again under IPC scrutiny?
posted: Dec 2nd, 2008 The last 2-year cycle from one World Championship of Formation Skydiving to the next one has come to its end after the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge. It's the point in time when the FS Subcommittee of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) considers rule changes for the next two years.
