Did you know that the Blue Spirits lineup goes back to childhood days? posted: Feb 13th, 2008 The growth of the skydiving community may have come to a pause, however, the popularity of 4-way Formation Skydiving is still growing. The Carolina Skydiving League welcomed several new Rookie Class teams to its windtunnel competition last weekend, and the first outdoor meets of the 2008 season will provide additional evidence.
Not only the World Challenge 2008 will register record participation this year. The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 will break all previous records, as well. It is even more exciting to see that the quality of the 4-way field even seems to keep up with the record quantity.

Did you know that Airspeed's Odyssey 2007 is now available on DVD? posted: Feb 8th, 2008 Some of the regular Skyleague.com visitors have already detected a new item in the NSL Shop and ordered a new DVD that has been added to the inventory. Airspeed's Odyssey through the 2007 season, at least in parts, has now been documented on the new DVD, which has just become available.
The NSL News has covered most of the events that Airspeed Odyssey attended last year, and many meet videos were uploaded and could be viewed on NSL-TV. However, a video on the internet is surely not the same as a DVD of the best 4-way jumps of the 2007 season, and the DVD offers much more than only competition... (more)
Did you know that DeLand Groove trains for the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008? posted: Feb 6th, 2008 The last reunion of DeLand Genesis (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo, Kyle Collins, David Van Greuningen, Eric Taylor) was actually planned for last year's USPA Nationals and did not materialize. The next attempt to get together as many of the original members as possible followed for the NSL Championship 2007, with the same unfortunate result.
DeLand Groove instead (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo, Solly Williams, Gary Smith) was more successful with a reunion at the FSL Shamrock 2007. The combination of DeLand Majik members (Solly Williams, Gary Smith) and DeLand Genesis (Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo) had... (more)
Did you know that former Teiwaz members have formed Sebastian Tempest? posted: Jan 28th, 2008 Teiwaz lost four members of the team's extended line-up, and the Florida Skydiving League has a new team. The NSL News story on 10 October 2008 (Archives > 2007 > News > search for: Tempest) already mentioned that four Teiwaz members had decided to put more efforts into 4-way training and competition.
The team name was already there, as the Teiwaz line-up at the NSL Championship 2007 was called "Teiwaz Tempest". Three of the team members in November 2007 (Chris Ash, Thiago Murradas, Ari Perelman) and Kris Byrne joined forces at the end of the 2007 season and formed Sebastian Tempest. (more)

The last time that the NSL News offered an update of the US national team Fastrax Blue dates back to 9 October 2007 (Archives > 2007 > News > search for Fastrax Blue). Coach Thomas Hughes, member of the US national 8-way team, has been working with Fastrax Blue in the meantime, and... (more)
Did you know that Fortitudo represents Norway at the World Meet in France? posted: Jan 22nd, 2008 Fortitudo stands for courage and strength in Latin language, which goes back to the Roman empire. It is now the team name for a new 4-way line-up that will represent Norway this year in IPC's female 4-way category.
The Fortitudo line-up already has a lot of strength and experience, which is being provided by the team's player coach, Lise Nansen, who won three bronze medals with the DeLand Norgies at the World Championships of Formation Skydiving in 1999, 2001 and 2003. Lise, formerly Aune, also runs a coaching business in Norway under the same name.
Fortitudo is a promising combination of... (more)
