Did You Know...

... that the 4-way Women's competition has now begun?

2003 world champion V-Max
posted Sep 18th, 2004 - Round two of the 4-way Open event is complete, and DeLand Majik has increased the lead to two points. This time, the judges needed only one viewing for both of the top teams. However, Majik's jump was still cleaner and again a little bit quicker. Round three will be called later today.

In the meantime, the teams of the 4-way Women's event have been called to the MI-8. Round one is on the agenda. The defending champion, UK's V-Max, is not present in Rijeka to defend the title. V-Max competed this year at the Malevsky World Cup 2004, however, the team has not trained ever since the Mondial 2003 in Gap and did not even plan to qualify for this year's world meet. A new UK team will represent the UK colors in Rijeka.

2004 favorite Synchronicity
The silver medalist of 2003, the Norgie Girls, discontinued, as well. Ditta Valsdottir is the only team member competing again at this year's world meet. She is now the point position for the new Norwegian 4-way team of the Open Class, Arcteryx. Only the bronze medalist of 2003 is back with the same line-up, USA's Synchronicity. The US team is also the world champion of 2001 where current member Sally Hathaway won the gold medal for the USA. The gold medal got lost in 2003, and the same line-up is now ready to win back the gold medals.

Two other 2003 top teams are back in Croatia with the same line-up, Italy and France. Both teams have already posted great scores this season, which highlights them as two of the top contenders at this year's world meet. The only question is whether either of them will be able to challenge the top favorite from the USA. The teams are now in the air, and the first scores are already posted.
