NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that the Fun Flag is flying - somewhere?

posted Aug 3rd, 2011 - It is very unusual that the NSL News audience is off the pace at the polls. The majority of the 8way fans expects the French Aerodyne Maubeuge lineup to win the World Cup 2011. Even French team captain Clement Martin St. Leon, triple world champion of 2006, 2008 and 2010, was not so sure about that, as the NSL News explained yesterday.

The Golden Knights are up by two points after Round 2, and the scores for Round 3 will be posted very soon. Golden Knights team captain Brian "BK" Krause said that he is glad that his 4way lineup decided to focus only on 8way in Germany this week. He remembered how hard it was to put all energy into one event and then compete in the other, as well. 4way and 8way are offset at the USPA Nationals, and it was still exhausting. It would be even harder now to compete in both events at the World Cup.

Guardians of the Fun Flag: German VFS 4way team
The NSL News also investigated the current situation of the Fun Flag. It is no secret that it has been in German possession. The VFS 4way competitors captured it in Menzelinsk, Russia, last year and brought it to Saarlouis.

The NSL News was not able to spot the Fun Flag yet. However, the German guardians said that it is visible when the NSL News complained that it needs to be in sight, so people can enjoy it and get the message. They argued that it can be seen - at least under open parachute, which somehow follows the unwritten rules.

The NSL News has only ground work. Teams and competitors may be able to help with the next update by looking out for the flag after opening the parachutes.
