Did You Know...

... that NSL-TV takes the audience on a DZ sightseeing tour?

Media center at the World Cup 2011
posted Aug 1st, 2011 - It's time for a little sightseeing tour for the NSL News audience who cannot enjoy the World Cup 2011 live at the competition site in Saarlouis-Duren.

The video clip begins at the hotel where many of the participants are accommodated. It is actually a 10-minute walk through the wilderness from the dropzone to get to the hotel, and many take advantage of the short distance. Skydivers can see the hotel under open parachute, and hotel guests can look down at the landing action.

The NSL-TV camera resumes the sightseeing tour at the dropzone. The NSL News shares the office space once again, and as usual, with the lovely ladies who cover the events for the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), Susan Dixon and Fay Kimble. Judges, dubbing station and media representatives are located close to each other, which should help to be up-to-date.

Show your Deep Blue Defender ankles...
The NSL News walked by Marco Arrigo on the sightseeing tour who has prepared the Brit Chicks 8way team for the competition, and there were several stops on the way for other photo ops. Joey Jones is in Saarlouis and oversees NMP-PCH Hayabusa's meet activities. He will launch the NSL Talk session at the World Cup later on.

The Russian 8way team Barkli and one of the three German 8way teams were in the boarding area, together with the French VFS team, the two French B-Teams and the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders. Perrine Sanchez was not the only team member who recently struggled with a strained ankle. She was injured playing volleyball. Laurence Hervé twisted her ankle when she landed an Accuracy jump at the CISM Championship in Brazil.

By the way, her team mate in the French military lineup, Stephanie Texier, is also the alternate for the Deep Blue Defenders. They won the silver medals together in Rio de Janeiro a few weeks ago, the Golden Knights took the 1st place. Now they will try to win the gold medals in the IPC event, and Stephanie Texier is on the bench. The Golden Knights compete with the same lineup as in Brazil.

Many additional photos of the event are available at the NSL Facebook page.
