Did You Know...

... that Bodyflight Black Majik is ready for the Rookie Class competition?

DeLand Black Majik lineup of 2005
posted Apr 1st, 2011 - It was a late NSL News arrival at Bodyflight Bedford where the World Challenge 2011 begins Saturday morning. It was great timing though, as one of the Rookie Class teams was just getting ready for a training session, and the NSL-TV camera was ready for the first Reality-TV clip of the World Challenge 2011.

Bodyflight Black Majik consists of Tristan Hampson, Rob Silver, Joey Jones and Paul Mayer. Joey Jones, former 4-way world champion of 2004 with DeLand Majik and veteran coach of many top teams, is not really eligible for the Rookie Class competition.

However, Black Majik has a place in this category since the four team members are all flying on their backs. The video shows that Bodyflight Black Majik is not turning more points than other Rookie Class teams may do. In fact, Black Majik will probably have to work hard to keep up with the rest of the strong Rookie Class field, which even includes last year's UK Rookie Class silver medalist Raykipo on the top of the list.

Beer selection at the FlowHouse Bar & Grill Thursday night
Bodyflight Bedford's owner Paul Mayer flies together with Joey Jones on his back. It will be the first time that he puts on a jumpsuit for his own competition. The NSL News will surely have an eye on Black Majik.

It is not the first time that Joey Jones brings in his freeflying skills to a Rookie Class competition. He had a different lineup with the same team name, Black Majik, years ago at a Florida Skydiving League competition. DeLand Black Majik provided very entertaining footage for the NSL News by then. Airspeed member Thomas Hughes was Joey Jones' Black Majik team mate in 2005.

The NSL News also checked out the beer selection at the new FlowHouse Bar & Grill last night. The story on 23 March 2011 had explained the background story. There was no Boddingtons on draft, however, Paul Mayer said that he would have a surprise when the event officially begins later today. There is still hope for fans of the Cream of Manchester...
