posted Mar 29th, 2011 - NSL-TV has moved fast forward after uploading the Shamrock Showdown 2011 videos of Round 5 yesterday. The videos of Round 6 have already been available since the story on 19 March 2011 was posted, and the videos of Round 7 followed on 19 March 2011. All videos of Round 8 are now available for reviews, as well.

The first five rounds of the Shamrock Showdown counted to determine the handicap for the Skins Game. The averages after Round 5 and then after each following round would be the foundation for the formula that evens out the playing field. From then on, each team could win a round after handicap with an outstanding performance at any time.

Teiwaz Eagle did this in Round 6 and won $150 cash, sponsored by United Parachute Technologies. It was the 6th competition jump on Saturday for Eagle, as the team had to catch up after missing the jumps on Friday. Eagle and Amphibious Attack Tigers both completed all ten Shamrock rounds on one day, which was the condition to participate in the Skins Game. The Eagle efforts were rewarded with the UPT cash in Round 6.

Bodyflight Voluntas' 21-pointer in Round 7 won the next skin after handicap. United Parachute Technologies was the sponsor for Round 7, as well, and Voluntas won $300 cash for the Danish team's best round of the meet.

Chuting Star, operated by former Mr. Pink member Mike Gruwell, sponsored Round 8 with $450, and the French national 4-way team in the female category, Aerodyne Cypres, the Deep Blue Defenders, won the cash with a 19-pointer for a slow sequence. Only the three top teams scored higher in this round. The Aerodyne Aerokart Maubeuge 23-pointer highscore for Round 8 came close (25.54 - 24.20), but the French female team won Chuting Star's $450.

Two teams competed in the AA Class competition of the Shamrock Showdown 2011, and there was also prize money for the 10-round efforts of DeLand Cinco and STF VELO-X. SkySystems, operated by former DeLand Majik world champion Doug Park, provided the $300 for the winners in the AA Class competition.

STF VELO-X visited from Georgia and has Skydive The Farm (STF) as the team's home dropzone. The young team could not keep up with the experienced DeLand Cinco lineup and finished in 2nd place. However, the 8.2 average was very motivating and promising for the next team from Georgia.

The NSL News had introduced A Class team GT Wreckless after the NSL Championship 2010, and both teams are creating new and great 4-way momentum for the Georgia Skydiving League. The NSL News will soon follow up with the GSL plans for the 2011 season. STF VELO-X took $100 back to the Farm.

DeLand Cinco competed with a new team member. Eric Haller, Quinn Lamb and Karl Meyer, with Scotty Pratt on camera, had finished in 8th place of 31 teams with a 9.7 average at the USPA Nationals 2010. Becca Lynn competed for Paul Barkus in the Tail slot, and the new lineup finished with a 10.1 average and $200 cash at the Shamrock Showdown.
