Did You Know...

... that Aethers Lille compete with Clementine Le Bohec in place of Mathieu Quizy?

Nephtys Maubeuge at Skydive Arizona
posted Oct 14th, 2026 - Ideal weather returned on Wednesday morning, and Skydive Arizona became a hive of activity as teams and competitors continued to arrive. News and updates from across the formation skydiving world were plentiful, keeping the NSL News busy collecting the latest developments while also following the teams’ training activities.

There were several surprises, including breaking news, amid the training sessions taking place just days before the official start of the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026. Perhaps the biggest news was confirmation that the lineup of France’s national 4-way Open team, Aethers Lille, had indeed changed.

Mathieu Quizy, who has occupied the team’s tail slot since the end of the 2021 season, did not compete with Aethers Lille at the French Outdoor Nationals in August this year. Medical issues also prevented him from training with the team. Clementine Le Bohec, a member of Nephtys Maubeuge, stepped into his slot, initially as a temporary replacement.

However, Quizy’s absence has lasted longer than expected. As a result, Aethers Lille will now compete with Le Bohec in the lineup as the team prepares to represent France at the upcoming world championship at Skydive Arizona.

Former French teammates: Jeremie Rollett - Mathieu Bernier
National coach Mathieu Bernier confirmed the situation, and the new Aethers Lille lineup was training at Skydive Arizona on Wednesday. Training alongside them was France’s national 4-way Women team, Nephtys Maubeuge, who arrived in Eloy with the same lineup that won the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 in Teuge, the Netherlands.

Clementine Le Bohec had previously replaced Gaelle Giesen at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026 in April, where Nephtys Maubeuge finished second behind China. Giesen is back in the lineup for the outdoor competition in Eloy, and the French 4-way Women team will be looking to reclaim the FAI Outdoor World Championship gold medals it last won at Australia 2018.

Le Bohec and Pamela Lissajoux were teammates at the 2018 championship in Australia, where Giesen served as the alternate. France will now be aiming for another set of 4-way Women gold medals with Lissajoux and Giesen in the current lineup, alongside Alexandra Petitjean and Marie Pineau, with Godeleine de Saint Just on camera. The lineup remains unchanged from last year.

Aethers Lille at the French Outdoor Nationals 2026
Clementine Le Bohec is now making the switch to 4-way Open for the first time in her skydiving career at an outdoor world championship. In fact, before stepping in for Mathieu Quizy at Aethers Lille in August, her last outdoor competition was the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019, where she competed with the Aerodyne Weembi Girls, and with Gaelle Giesen in the lineup for Pamela Lissajoux.

Seven years later, Le Bohec, now a mother, is returning to outdoor training and competition to help Aethers Lille in 4-way Open. The new lineup posted a 24.3 average at the French Outdoor Nationals in August, despite having done no training together beforehand. Since then, the team has completed three short training camps over weekends.

The change in the Aethers Lille lineup has altered the dynamics at the top of the expected 4-way Open Class leaderboard. The French national team may no longer hold its previously dominant position at the top of the world rankings. Golden Knights and NMP PCH HayaBusa can now expect to compete on a more equal footing with Aethers Lille, something that has not been the case since January 2025.

The new Aethers lineup’s starting point of a 24.3 average in August is an encouraging sign for national coach Mathieu Bernier. However, the well-prepared lineups of Golden Knights and NMP PCH HayaBusa could turn the fight for the gold medals into a duel between the two teams. The NSL Power Rankings have been updated to reflect the latest developments in Eloy.
