posted Oct 13th, 2026 - The NSL News visited Skydive Perris to cover the USPA Nationals 2026. The next stop was Skydive Arizona, where preparations are underway for the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 and the participating teams were making their final preparations.

There had been no plans for additional coverage of Arizona Airspeed, the new USPA 4-way Open Class champion, following the NSL Live Talk on September 18th. The focus in Eloy was expected to shift to the Golden Knights, who will compete for FAI medals in what promises to be an exciting 4-way battle among Aethers Lille (FR), the Golden Knights (US), and NMP PCH HayaBusa (BE).

Of course, Skydive Arizona is Airspeed's home, so it was only natural to expect the team members to follow the competition with at least as much interest as the spectators. Aethers, HayaBusa, and the Golden Knights will once again be direct rivals of Arizona Airspeed next year and beyond. Team captain Joey Marshall even offered to provide commentary and anchoring for the NSL News coverage of the outdoor world championship, which is taking place on his team's home turf. It is unusual enough for a high-profile competition to take place at Skydive Arizona without Airspeed appearing on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard. Yet the presence of this legendary team project remains unmistakable, and its members will be part of the world championship picture, one way or another.

The NSL News previews of the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 began with an update on Ranch TNT SDAZ training in Eloy last weekend. Even this story featured an indirect Arizona Airspeed connection, as 4-way Open Class world champion Mark Kirkby was coaching the 4-way Women team.

The next NSL News update featured an NSL Live Talk with Golden Knights team captain Jesse Stahler, who shared the conversation with Niklas Hemlin, still the reigning 4-way Open Class world champion with the previous Airspeed lineup.

Last but not least, the entire current Arizona Airspeed lineup, which won the 4-way Open Class title at the USPA Nationals 2026, became part of the NSL News coverage once again. The team happened to be training at the SkyVenture Arizona wind tunnel on the same day that Jesse Stahler and Niklas Hemlin discussed the outcome of the national outdoor championship and the situation heading into Round 1 of the world meet. Arizona Airspeed and Golden Knights at the Wind Games 2026

The NSL News did not hesitate to make an excursion to the wind tunnel, which is within walking distance of the parachute landing area. Arizona Airspeed were in full swing with indoor training, with the complete lineup present except for outdoor team videographer Alex Swindle. Arizona Airspeed had been trailing the Golden Knights in both indoor and outdoor training with their new lineup, following Michelle Karamon's arrival at the beginning of this year. That situation is now changing, as Airspeed are switching to indoor training and competition earlier than the Golden Knights, who must devote their full attention to the outdoor world championship.

The current Airspeed lineup has competed indoors directly against the Golden Knights twice, with the Golden Knights finishing ahead on both occasions: first at the Wind Games 2026 in January, and then a month later at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2026.

However, the new Airspeed lineup, featuring Michelle Karamon, finished much closer to the Golden Knights than expected, trailing by just six points at the Wind Games (289–283) and seven points at Paraclete XP. Airspeed's head start in indoor training this year could bring the two teams even closer together.
