Did You Know...

... that 59 teams are ready for 4-way action in Perris?

Andy Grauwels and Ari Perelman in Perris
posted Sep 14th, 2026 - The USPA Nationals 2026 are ready for Round 1. The AAA Class teams will be confronted with a casual set of ten sequences, as the sequence for the potential tie-breaking Round 11 consists of two slower blocks and one of the six slot-switchers (Block 3). Round 1 features the fastest sequence of the entire AAA/Open/Advanced Class competition to get the meet started.

Participation in the 4-way competition has increased compared to last year, when a total of 57 teams (12 - 14 - 20 - 11), including the guest team Aethers Lille from France, attended the event. This year, 16 teams compete in 4-way Open (AAA), 13 in 4-way Advanced (AAA), 19 in 4-way Intermediate (AA), and 11 in 4-way Beginner (A), for a total of 59 teams.

The 4-way field includes two guest teams: a new lineup from Qatar featuring two former Cheetahs members and 4-way head coach Andy Grauwels, and Mexico's national 4-way team, MeXtreme, which is competing in the AA/Intermediate Class at the USPA Nationals. MeXtreme will represent Mexico in 4-way Open at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 next month. The Qatar delegation has also registered a 4-way team for the competition in Eloy, together with its 8-way top contender, the Qatar Falcons.

USPA Nationals 2026 - NSL TV Unfiltered on Sunday, September 13th - Opening Meeting and Dirtdiving
Golden Knights with Niklas Hemlin
The two U.S. national 4-way teams, the Golden Knights in 4-way Open and Ranch TNT SDAZ in 4-way Women, have their warm-up opportunity for the same outdoor world championship where they will meet the 4-way teams from Qatar and Mexico. The 4-way Women teams at Skydive Perris have to compete in 4-way Open at the USPA Nationals to qualify for the FAI Outdoor World Cup next year in Brazil.

NSL TV Unfiltered recorded some of the teams during their first engineering and dirtdiving efforts. The two strongest 4-way Open Class opponents, the Golden Knights and Arizona Airspeed, were in close proximity to each other, even though Skydive Perris offers a long stretch of facilities for the large group of teams and competitors.

The Texas team and 4-way Intermediate Class top contender Spaceland Dallas Pajama Party were working on the sequences with coach Kyle Hermberg, while Niklas Hemlin, still the reigning 4-way world champion from 2022 and 2024, spent the longest part of the preparations with the U.S. Army team. His former teammate Joey Marshall, also a 4-way world champion in 2022 and 2024, was preparing for jumps nearby. The 4-way teams will meet for Round 1 at 8 a.m. Pacific Time.
