Did You Know...

... that Funky Falcon becomes the second Dutch 4-way Women team at a World Championship?

Rookie Class team Funky Falcon in 2018
posted Sep 12th, 2026 - The AAA Class teams at the BENELUX Outdoor Championship 2026 completed all ten rounds, just as all 4-way teams had done in Germany a week earlier. The other teams (AA, A, and RRR) in Schaffen, Belgium, were unable to complete a full 10-round competition. The three national 4-way teams from Belgium (NMP PCH HayaBusa) and the Netherlands (Out Of The Blue in 4-way Open and Funky Falcon in 4-way Women) were able to complete their final test before the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 in Eloy. There, the weather conditions can be expected to be more favorable than they were at the combined national outdoor championships of Belgium and the Netherlands.

NMP PCH HayaBusa confirmed the performance level they had demonstrated at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2026, competing under the FAI/ISC rules and with the same dive pool. At that event, they were pushed round by round by the Golden Knights, much as they were at the CISM World Championship 2026.

The two Dutch teams both finished the event with team-record averages. The NSL News covered the duel between Belgian team Ayro and OOTB in the update on September 7th. Only Dutch 4-way Open Class team OOTB will travel to Eloy next month, as Belgium will be represented by NMP PCH HayaBusa. Dutch 4-way Women team Funky Falcon will also make the trip to Skydive Arizona in October. The trip had already been planned before they finished the BENELUX Outdoor Championship with a new team-record average of 10.8. It was the team's first outdoor average above 10 points since the project was launched in 2018.

Dutch 4-way Women team Infinity in 2006
Funky Falcon attended their first FAI/ISC competition at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 on home soil at Skydive Teuge, where they finished at the bottom of the 4-way Women leaderboard after a one-point thriller (98–99) against U.S. team Perris 4ever. Now, the same lineup will compete at an outdoor World Championship, where they will once again meet France's Nephtys Maubeuge, as well as Norway's new Thyra lineup. Both teams will most likely be out of reach for Funky Falcon, while this year's U.S. opponent, Ranch TNT AZ, is also expected to take home a set of medals from the event.

However, the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 next month is still a very special event for the Dutch delegation, which is bringing a 4-way Women team to the event for only the second time in its history since 2001. Infinity represented the Netherlands in 4-way Women at Gera 2006, finishing in 6th place among twelve teams with a 12.8 average after only five rounds.

The organizers of the BENELUX Outdoor Championship 2026 also applied the NSL trickle-down competition draw, in which the sequences for the AA/A/RRR competition follow the lead of the AAA Class draw within their respective dive pools. This gives teams in the other three NSL competition classes the opportunity to compare their scores directly with teams in the categories they may step up into in the near future. AA Class winner Fourplay, with three female team members in the lineup, won one of the two identical rounds against Funky Falcon.
