posted Sep 7th, 2026 - All of the Top 10 contenders for the 4-way Open Class competition at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026 have posted 2026 scores by now. This makes it possible to compare the current NSL Power Rankings with the actual hard data more realistically, following the first comparison published by the NSL News on August 8th and the subsequent adjustments based on feedback from Gary Smith ten days later.

Only the Golden Knights will add fresher scoring data after the USPA Nationals 2026, which are scheduled to begin on the Monday after the coming weekend. NMP PCH HayaBusa (BE) and Out Of The Blue (NL) in 4-way Open, as well as 4-way Women team Funky Falcon (NL), successfully completed the scheduled ten rounds at the BENELUX Outdoor Championship 2026. The results eventually moved the Dutch 4-way Open Class team into the Top 10.

The most recent results confirm the Top 10 positions in the NSL Power Rankings, including the adjustments suggested by Gary Smith. However, the hard data behind the new Top 10 ranking still differs considerably from the previous ranking.

The previous Top 10 rankings, which were based on meet averages posted in 2026, included South African 4-way team Savolo as a participating 4-way Open Class team, as well as Brazil's Netunos 4-way lineup. Neither team is registered for the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026, while SOAR (UK) and OOTB (NL) earned their Top 10 positions after posting their latest meet averages at their respective national outdoor championships over the past two weeks.

Both teams were expected to compete in Eloy next month, and both had already held Top 10 positions in the NSL Power Rankings, which do not rely solely on hard data when making speculative predictions about expected leaderboard positions. However, SOAR's 20.1 average lifted the British national 4-way Open Class team directly into the expected fourth place in the NSL Power Rankings, where they will likely battle with the Czech Skywalkers Most.

The French Aethers Lille remain in the top spot, even though their 24.3 average at the national outdoor championship was lower than the highest meet averages posted by the Golden Knights (26.1) and NMP PCH HayaBusa (25.7), both at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2026. The Aethers had substitute Clémentine Le Bohec flying in the tail slot for Mathieu Quizy when they finished with their 24.3 average in August.

The Golden Knights are still ranked ahead of NMP PCH HayaBusa following the June competition, even though the Belgians won the recent CISM World Championship with a historic 35.9 average, finishing one point ahead of the U.S. team. Neither challenger has reached the 27+ average level yet, as the Aethers did at the Shamrock Showdown 2026 - 1st Bob Hallett Memorial. In most years in the past, the winner of the Shamrock Showdown would also go on to become the new 4-way world champion that same year.

Airbus 4-way Illertissen (DE) and Echochamber (SE) will battle each other behind the two teams ahead of them (SOAR and Skywalkers Most), according to Gary Smith. The Germans have moved closer to the Swedes following their most recent lineup change, which the NSL News reported on September 1st.

OOTB (NL) earned their Top 10 position ahead of Norway's Agera after matching the team's own highest average of 17.7, which the 2023 lineup posted at the combined Belgian/Dutch outdoor championship of 2023. The BENELUX Outdoor Championship 2026 was the first outdoor competition for the new lineup, featuring new members Siem Ibens and Timmy De Smet.
