posted Jun 28th, 2026 - Six teams posted scores on the AAA/Open/Advanced Class leaderboard of the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2026, while one additional team competed on its own in the AA/Intermediate Class. Larry's Illegitimate Children were not newcomers to 4-way competition, having made their debut in the A/Beginner Class at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2026.

The only change to the original lineup was the absence of the team's namesake, Larry Rinard, for the outdoor competition. Stan Kay filled his slot after competing in the 8-way event at the indoor championship in February, where Leslie Smith, Kristy Heady, Jeremiah Bragg, and Larry Rinard had launched Larry's Illegitimate Children.

One of the team members, Leslie Smith/Noble, had already earned a USPA AA/Intermediate Class gold medal with CSC Constellation XP at the USPA Nationals 2024. She did not remain with CSC Constellation XP when the team moved up to the AAA/Advanced Class. Instead, she joined Kristy Heady, Jeremiah Bragg, and Larry Rinard, who all began their 4-way careers in the A/Beginner Class at this year's indoor championship. With Leslie Smith's previous experience in both the A and AA classes, the team advanced to the AA/Intermediate Class for the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2026, where they had no opposition.

Larry's Illegitimate Children at the Paraclete XP Summer Classic

Larry's Illegitimate Children are one of seven teams that were still using the previous A/Beginner Class dive pool at the national indoor championship at Paraclete XP, held one week after USPA had introduced changes to the dive pool, as NSL News reported on June 17th.

Block 8 (Canadian T - Canadian T) was drawn for Round 6 of the A/Beginner Class competition, while Block 19 (Ritz - Icepick) was assigned to Round 8. Since USPA does not sanction indoor competition, the previous A/Beginner Class dive pool remained in use at Paraclete XP. The Cloud Games and the Paraclete XP Summer Classic 2026 are also non-USPA events, yet both adopted the new USPA A/Beginner Class dive pool.

The opening meet of the Southern California Skydiving League in April, along with other competitions in the NSL 4-way Network around the world, also continued to use the previous A Class dive pool before the USPA changes became known throughout the affiliated leagues. As a result, the 2026 season has become somewhat confusing, with organizers potentially needing to offer two different competition draws before the A Class dive pool is hopefully synchronized again next year, allowing for shared international leaderboards once more. Larry's Illegitimate Children, however, were not affected by the USPA's changes to the A/Beginner Class dive pool, as they competed in the AA/Intermediate Class, whose dive pool remained unchanged. All four relevant blocks—the previous A Class blocks (8 and 19) as well as the new ones (1 and 13)—are already included in the AA/Intermediate Class dive pool.
