... that Indonesia surprises in 4-way Open?

Indonesia's 4-way Open team in 2024
posted Apr 10th, 2026 - The 4-way teams returned to action for the remainder of Friday, and all formation skydiving events had completed six rounds by the end of the day. Aethers and Nephtys transitioned seamlessly back from 8-way to 4-way, with the 4-way Open Class leaders extending their advantage by another three points over the rest of the field. Nephtys are struggling to match the pace of the leading Chinese lineup, while the second Chinese team is now applying pressure from behind.

Skywalkers Most continue to defend their position as the unofficial “amateur world champions” just outside the medal standings. Italy’s Amnesya Fly X lineup, featuring former HayaBusa world champion Michele Silvi, is the closest challenger to the young Czech team, trailing by six points after six rounds.

The Indonesian 4-way Open team has emerged as the biggest surprise in this category. Their 20.2 average at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 was the highest meet average recorded for Indonesia in the NSL News database. At Weembi Lille, however, the current lineup is performing at a significantly higher level, holding 7th place with a 26.3 average. Indonesia’s formation skydiving delegation also includes a 4-way Women team, currently ranked 10th out of 13 teams. This lineup also competed in China in 2024, where they finished ahead of the Italian team in the same category.

China - Siberries - Nephtys in Round 1
Siberries in 2025
With yesterday’s update, the NSL News highlighted the parallel event in Moscow, where Russian 4-way teams are simulating indirect participation in the Indoor World Cup at Weembi Lille. Four 4-way Open Class teams and two 4-way Women teams are performing the same sequences, making their scores and videos publicly available.

Yesterday's NSL News update featured a diverse Top 10 leaderboard that combined all 4-way teams from both Weembi Lille and Moscow. Two of the six Russian teams entered the unofficial Top 10—Siberries in 4-way Women and Strike in 4-way Open.

The 4-way Women team Siberries would actually be in second place on the official leaderboard if they were able to replicate their performance under identical conditions at the competition site, including the same judging panel. Only the leading Chinese team would remain ahead of them. Siberries matched China’s score in Round 3 and even secured the sole high score in Round 4, while Aura Nomads would end up in the lower end of the rankings, currently occupied by Italy’s Valkyrie at the bottom. All six Russian 4-way teams plan to complete the full ten rounds of competition, and the NSL News will continue to follow the parallel event in Moscow. Earlier this year, Siberries had already competed alongside U.S. 4-way and 8-way teams at an event in Abu Dhabi.
